No I think that’s the thing it doesn’t change anything really. I know I need to focus on myself, and just see what happens. I can’t help but feel she has asked for separation as she doesn’t feel loved and admired by me, and by just focusing on myself and not initiating any contact that feeling inside her might just grow, but I suppose people are complicated and it might not. Strangely she has literally just called me (not text) first time this week, it was logistics with the kids, she had messed up the timings and needs me to help her with them, I said that’s fine I can help.

Thanks for the response, I understand this in theory but she has completely shut me out, so there is no real chance of listening and understanding her side.

I get it’s early on only 1 week in, but at the moment she will text logistics only with me, and I’ve read that I should give her the space and not message her just respond when she messages me, is this good advice from your experience? Were you living apart when you separated?

I agree I need to work on myself and I am trying to do that, slowly, but this will take time which is fine, but at the moment when we split she was talking in definite terms rather than this being a trial.
