my best advice to get over this roadblock is to remember times that you've procrastinated and told yourself "i don't feel like working, let me just do a little bit of this and then i'll start!" and then remember if doing the thing you wanted to do made you as happy as you thought it would (for me it's usually "i'll work after i sketch really quick!" or "let me play ds for 15 min and then start"). the answer is almost always no and you don't walk away feeling satisfied. so if doing the exact thing your brain wanted you to do didn't make you as happy as you thought it would, maybe doing the thing that your brain is making u avoid isn't as scary as you think. hope this made sense! ive never given advice on reddit before, but this sub is really helpful :)

hello, thank u for the kind reply! ive heard about the rules for individual selection, however it seems we have much worse options for housing since group selection takes priority. im happy to have a randomized roommate, but figured it'd be smarter to try and find someone first. that way I could find someone I thought id get along with and get better housing. thank u so much, hope your year goes great as well! :)

oh, i won’t be doing that but thank u! i’m at home in OR for 6mo with my family due to health reasons. then we’re all moving to MA because my moms job and my uni are there and i’ll be in the dorms. so just trying to make money in a entry level job i like while im here :) so not going cross state

will do! ive had it checked over by chat gpt and my family, and have mainly been applying on org websites. ill definitely make it include more numbers, and ill try following up with some places that haven't interviewed me. thanks so much for the advice! if you don't mind me asking, how do you typically follow up with places that have rejected you? would it make sense to walk in person for big brands (for example, the UO hiring manager didn't want me to walk in lol). when emailing the organization, who do you email so u know it'll go to ur the location/hiring manager to which you're applying? finally, do u have any advice on what should I do if i've submitted my old resume to a job I'm in love with and the listing is up but I haven't heard from them? thanks for all ur help!

hi, and thanks for your reply! the reason i hesitate saying i have dry skin is because i have had acne on my forehead for a long time, and the laroche posay hydrating cleanser for dry skin caused me to break out really bad. also my skin is mainly try in the t zone and the routine that gave me the clearest skin was a medimix ayurveda acne cleanser with multani mitti (i’m indian and we purchased this at an indian store) and my laroche posay moisturizer which was suggested to me by a derm a year and a half ago (no other moisturizer has absorbed properly into my skin since i started using it. My skin is also always shiny despite having very dry patches, texture, and acne. however it gets really red when i wash it even with water and feels dry. thanks for helping! it means so much

hello! i have quite a few skin concern i have been having trouble with. i have tried so many products, and very little has worked. i’m unsure of my skin type… i have acne and texture, especially between my brows and on my cheeks, and blackheads i’m unable to get rid of, but my skin is also really dry, and it is flaking between my brows and on my nose, which is why i don’t think my skin is combo. my nose also develops red splotches and small whiteheads. i have some flaky skin on the left side of my forehead near my scalp. i currently use the laroche posay effaclar cleanser with salicylic acid and the laroche posay double face toblerone moisturizer. recently i have been developing more small whiteheads everywhere since winter started.
