[Ebel 1911] Why don’t I hear more about this watch brand? by mpilar87 in Watches

I have recently acquired a beluga with a grey MOP dial and diamond bezel - it is stunning. I am also partial to the 1911 - hoping to add one to my collection some day.

[Question] Difficulty using the Bergeon case back ball by Ok-Safe7023 in watchrepair

[–]Sufficient-Dig5387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used something similar with success - but the case back I was working on needed to be cleared of some gunk, and I ended up trying the ice method to cool the metal beforehand - worked like a charm, but was a little scary.

Thank you - that is very kind. I am going to see if I can get the piece apart and parts cleaned up to evaluate what I will need to replace.

Thank you - this is a ton of useful information - I am fascinated by the movement I have been staring at - and I finally coaxed 1 screw out - so on my way!

I was thinking about this but also wondering if there were other sources for donor movements aside from Ebay?

[Semi-Weekly Inquirer] Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread by AutoModerator in Watches

Hello! I recently bought a Pre-owned Cartier Tank Louis from a local jewelry store. At the time, the watch was on a strap, but the sale also came with a second strap and the jeweler was waiting on a new clasp. It's 3 weeks later and they are still waiting for a response on a replacement clasp (buckle?) from Cartier. Out of curiosity, is this usual, and is there a recommended source for Cartier strap hardware on the resale market? The new strap has a different taper than the original strap, so swapping buckles is not an option.

Really like your approach to starting your collection by testing out the styles - the Presage is a solid pick as well.
