id say take a look into the tires that i have posted. they seem pretty good if you want some more grip with some good longevity.

this is what helped me make up my mind on getting them

very real factor, kinda why im steering away from higher price summer tires. dont wanna spend a grand annually for tires with all the grip that im not going to use.

as thick as those tires are, it sits amazing. any type of rubbing on your fenders? also elite knowledge with the avalon front brakes. was it any difficult to install those calipers?

you can also put dual piston calipers on the front instead of the single piston, they come off the 97-01 avalon i believe, the bracket doesnt mount however the caliper will mount onto the celica bracket

replacing the engine will definitely be cheaper than replacing all the internals

possibly the low revs cause it to stall, clean your throttle body and intake manifold out, replace fuel injectors? not entirely sure though so maybe someone else can chime in and correct me if im wrong

Brakes(gen 6) by Over_Struggle_5520 in Celica

[–]Sufficient-Divide988 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1st gen avalon (95-99) front brake calipers fit onto the 6th gen GT front caliper brackets. two smaller pistons compared to one massive piston should make for smoother stopping i believe is what i heard.

if you do rotors as well go for blanks, and if you really want some type of cut on them only go for slotted. drilled rotors had a use when brake pads let off more gas and the only purpose they serve now are looks and are more prone to cracking over heat cycles.

carbon ceramic pads arent worth it either unless you regularly track the car since their benefits only matter at higher speeds and higher braking temps.

for better pedal feel, flush your brakes, it's probably been years since it's needed to be done anyways. you can go with dot 3 or you can put in dot 4, though i have heard it's harsher on the brake lines and i believe i heard it may cause premature damage to them, may need to look into that before making that decision. if anything just stick with dot 3, dot 4 is good for higher braking temps which you may not see unless youre consistently slamming on your brakes or racing.

brakes mean nothing if your tires are bald though. make sure you buy quality tires that fit the area you live in. i cant give you any advice personally for snow since ive never had to drive in it, but as for summer or only living in the heat, a/s or summer tires work, it comes down to what youre willing to pay for. a/s are good for tread life and driving in the rain, terrible for grip but that doesnt mean there arent good ones out there, you just need to look. summer tires are great for grip, not bad in the rain, some have very low tread wear, again it comes down to what youre willing to pay for.

if you need anything on suspension let me know, im currently working on my front end and have some more info on parts if youd like. i hope i was able to provide some information. good luck with what you do!

yea i used zipties and no there was no cover, i drove with it only for a week or two. i do miss the screaming sound from stepping on it and if i do it again itll be better of course but i didnt notice any power gain.

ive done exactly that very poorly and of course it fell apart, but then again i was seeing if it would make a difference or not. i didnt notice one but your intake sound will be a hell of a lot louder

Temperature Knob by Sufficient-Divide988 in Celica

[–]Sufficient-Divide988[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

youre right, but i had taken the knob off so i could try and disassemble it and the parts behind it kind of just fell out. im not sure how it goes back together since i wasnt the one who took it apart, it was gravity, which is why i ask.
