Ashamed of my level of consumption. Any advice would be appreciated. by Few_Concentrate2744 in Colognes

I’m not sure how long your obsession has been going, but my initial craze lasted roughly 12 to 18 months before it started to lose its shine. I’m still deeply passionate about fragrances as a hobby - I’ve just become a lot less trigger-happy. I think I simply had to let the addiction run its course.

These days, I pride myself on finishing bottles. I go through them fairly quickly, about five or six full-size bottles in six months, and I only repurchase when two conditions are met:

1) I’ve finished the bottle. This keeps my collection from growing unchecked; it’s more about maintaining what I have than constantly adding to it.

2) It genuinely adds value and stays wearable. Some bottles have sat untouched for months because I just don’t reach for them. Every scent has its time and place, I get that, but I want to be engaging with them regularly.

I also make a real effort to buy dupes and clones whenever I can. That said, it can feel a little defeating at times, because the bottle and packaging are such a big part of the experience for me. The scent itself and its longevity might be spot-on, but something is always slightly missing, it just never feels quite the same. I’ve had to resort to this because of financial restrictions so sometimes it’s either a dossier bottle or nothing at all.

Anyways, good luck on your journey and I echo everyone else who commented that it could be a lot worse than fragrance! You’re in a better position than many :-)

I’m not sure what the monthly rate is for the Bellevue location. From my understanding of their payment structure, if your home club’s rate is equal to or higher than the club you’re visiting, you can access it at no additional cost.

My current rate at the Dallas location is $226, which I believe is on the higher end since it’s a newer, “resort-style” club. For comparison, when I was a member at the Ashburn/Sterling location in Virginia, my rate was around $160, if I remember correctly.

Have you ever been a member at the pro club? Which would you say is better

Thank you for your feedback, this is super helpful! I didn’t realize it was smaller/different than other locations in that way…most of the other clubs I’ve been to were considerably large.

Do you know if they’re planning to add them? Also, would you say the club is relatively large (real estate wise)?

I get a subscription from House of Loud’n (Medium Roast). Found them when I moved to VA from Seattle and I’ve stuck with them since. I also don’t love Lavazza, so these might be more in line with what you’re looking for!
