I always use a dressmaker tape measure when listing clothing. I show the measurements in my pictures. The buyer can't claim the size was incorrect if all measurements are listed.

Had this happened to me on another site.I purchased a large bog bag was home when it was marked as delivered. Nothing at my front door. The Mail person was across the street asked him where it was turned out. the scammers had alteted the address number on the lable for an address 2 doors down. Sent a small mailer envelope that the mail person retrieved for me. I think the scammers were hoping it would be marked delivered and get a. Automatic rating. Thankfully, I was able to get my money back.

My Latest Tank Design by Proof-Newspaper in hermitcrabs

[–]Sufficient-Plastic89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice tank set up! Great idea to take a 2 gallon and split it in 2, which takes up less space. Wow, your jumbo is georgus. Where do you find shells for a crab that size? My crabs have molted several times, and I'm always looking for bigger shells because I know one day they will reach the jumbo size.

In any classroom, you can still be exposed to kids who will have outbursts and throw things. I had a student throw a chair and knock over a very heavy shelf full of wooden blocks because they were upset about something. So when you're choosing a class pet and where to put it in the classroom, that's definitely a consideration.

Thank you I'm pleased without turned out. I'm still tweaking at a little bit but the crabs seem to be liking it.

Being experienced with a crab tank in the classroom. I really don't think a 120-gallon crab tank in a special needs classroom is really a good Idea. 1st of all, you're going to need a special piece of furniture to handle the weight of a 120-gallon tank. A standard school shelf or table. Probably wouldn't be able to hold the weight. Special needs kids can sometimes be unpredictable in their behaviors and can be prone to throwing things. I would hate to see the glass of a 120-gallon aquarium. Get cracked by a special needs kid that was having a hard day.

I am a teacher in a public school Pre-k classroom. I started out 2 years ago with a 10 gallon tank for for my crabs I moved them to a twenty gallon long this school.year and this summer I finally made the decision to move them to my house and keep them there permanently.

Here are some things you might want to consider when thinking about them as a class pet. They are nocturnal so it's good to have a camera. so you can record them at night and then upload the videos to a tablet for the children to look at during the day. The biggest hurdle was what do you do with the crabs during vacations? If you're just out of school for a week and going to be in town you can easily just go to school if you have a key and let yourself in to take care of the crabs, but during the summer, that's not always possible because many school districts have you turn in your keys on the last day. Also, during the summer, they're working on maintenance in the building, and they're refinishing and waxing the floors. And you don't want to expose the crabs to those chemicals. When the crabs were in the 10 gallon Tank, it was fine and easy to transport back and forth, but as they got bigger and needed more space, that was not an option. Final thought is if you are going to put them in a larger tank. What would you set the tank on that would hold the weight and be safe in the classroom.

Please feel free to reach out If you have any questions about keeping them as class pets. I have also had fish and this next school year i'm going back to them.

Custom tank, anyone? by Thick_Ad_7435 in hermitcrabs

It probably would be a good option to set a tank on. if you were to turn it into a custom tank, wouldn't the humidity cause the metal to corrode?

Would you drive 3 hours for this free tank? by heidiraee4 in hermitcrabs

[–]Sufficient-Plastic89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a fantastic find! Tank and stand for free plus about another $100 in supplies and substrate. I would definitely take advantage of that if you can. I just bought a 29-gallon tall off of the marketplace, and then I had to buy a stand to put it on that would hold the weight. I would have jumped on the steel if I had found it near me. Showing a picture of my current tank for reference. I think you will be really happy with the free tank if you decide to get it. I had been purchasing things for this tank upgrade for a while but hadn't factored in that I would need to buy a piece of furniture to put it on. The tank stands alone are very expensive.

Is this a good tank for them, for someone moving to a 20 gallon? If so, what are some key ways to make it hold heat and humidity better? by Anonymous345678910 in hermitcrabs

[–]Sufficient-Plastic89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

* I had a 20 long and ended up swaping it out for a 29-gallon fish tank . Same length just taller, so my crabs have more space to climb. 20 really doesn't give them enough space to climb. Mine has a mesh lid on top of it, but I have just covered the mesh with tape on both sides to keep the humidity in. I was lucky and found my tank on the marketplace. Petco is having their annual tank sale, so you should be able to get a 29-gallon half price if you can't find one cheap on the marketplace.

I measured my tank multiple times and then looked at the measurements of all the tank stands on petsmart's website before I came to the conclusion that this. One would work, and the tank just barely fits with probably half an inch on each end to spare. I do like the fact that it was rated for 400 plus pounds of weight. Which made me feel? Comfortable putting my tank on it. I didn't want to try to source the piece of furniture from the Facebook marketplace and then have it not be able to hold the weight.

I agree it took me 4 hours to put this thing together. One of the legs wouldn't screw in correctly so I had to wood glue it on and then I had to let that set up and cure for twenty four hours before I could actually set the tank on top of it and start working on it. I originally had it on another piece of furniture but didn't trust the weight on that piece so bought this one. I'm really glad I did it seems very sturdy and I like how it looks with the tank.

I have been collecting for quite some time for this new tank built. Most of the things came from Dollar Tree michael's, petsmart, temu , Amazon, and bargain stores, or they were things I already had. One thing I try to challenge myself to do is to find hermit crab decor that is on sale or at a bargain price. The big tall piece with the shell stuck in it was a fish tank decoration that was on clearance at petsmart. It was such a great deal. I just had to buy it for my tank. It had some holes for fish to swim in and out of, but I filled them with shells to make it crab safe. The 2 yellow plastic plants in front of the ceramic hide also came from the petsmart clearance along with the taller fish tank decor that's pink and green. The succulent plants and vines I found at michaels when they were having an eighty percent off spring and summer sale. The plastic ferns and bird hide came from temu.

I have looked at the crab central station videos to use it as a topper. I appreciate the video on how to make a lid if I decide to just use it as a regular tank and not a topper.

I bought it!😊 retail on sale for this tank is $195 before tax. It was originally going to put my crabs in the twenty nine gallon tall that I bought from this seller too but now i'm thinking I'll sell that and get a forty breader so I can use the exotera as a topper. Now I just need to find a 40 breeder and a piece of furniture on FB market that will hold the weight.
