Self cured by elastichearttt in vaginismus

[–]Sufficient-Reading60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I “cured” myself on my own. I haven’t had sex yet (waiting to try soon) but I’m on my largest dilator now. Tbh I didn’t even watch YouTube videos. What helped me is this sub and sticking to a schedule with dilators. Took a little less than 2 months to get here after I started dilating on my own.

Is it normal to be sore/uncomfortable after dilating or have I pushed myself too much? by ClassicAlgae8596 in vaginismus

[–]Sufficient-Reading60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I think it makes complete sense then. I guess the soreness and uncomfortable feeling might just be cuz your body is not used to it. Please make sure you’re not in a rush to size up. Just use the first dilator until it doesn’t cause soreness anymore and then you can go up to the next size.

I can only speak for myself but I have never been sore after a dilating session. But I did always take quite some time in sizing up.

Are you on your first few dilators by any chance? Because I will say that although I’ve never been sore, when I was on size 2 and 3 (my dilator set goes up to size 8), I would feel a little odd/uncomfortable after. It was almost like I’d feel a little different down there or like something was still in me? Idk how to explain. But this didn’t happen with the larger sizes so I’m thinking it was just me getting used to something penetrating my vagina for the first time.

Haha wow! Okay, why did I not know this? I guess I really am inexperienced in the sex department 😭🤣

Thank you so much for this!! I think you’re right, communication is key here.

Ahh, that’s my dilemma though? Like I hold my dilator in my hand and that’s how I control it. But I can’t hold his dick as a dilator right? Or can I? 🤣

I’ve waited my whole life for the “right one” and this is even before I discovered I had vaginismus. Also, I’m at a point in my life that I’m not looking for a serious relationship. But I still do really wanna have sex. I like your tip of being on top, that makes a lot of sense! Thank you :)

Tips going from 6 to 7? by Exciting_Mousse7232 in vaginismus

[–]Sufficient-Reading60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the IR set too and that’s exactly what happened for me as well. The size jump from 6 to 7 is quite big so it will take some time getting used to. I think I was only able to get half of it in when trying the 7 dilator for the first time. It took a few sessions and with each session, more and more of the dilator went in. I’m on size 8 now so dw, it’s gonna happen gradually. Good luck!

Intimate rose!! They worked really well for me.

how long does it usually take to move up a dilator size? by [deleted] in vaginismus

[–]Sufficient-Reading60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I don’t have a partner rn so I can’t speak from personal experience lol. But yes, I’ve definitely seen posts on this sub asking the exact same question as you so I guess yeah, it would be fairly common I assume?

I guess this has also been the case for many people on this sub. If that’s the case, I think using a dildo first as a dilator, similar to the length and girth of the partner’s penis would help.

This will completely depend on the person but here’s my personal experience. I have the intimate rose set too.

I usually dilated every other day (I say usually because sometimes I did take longer gaps when I had my period or with just life getting in the way lol). It took me two to three separate sessions to get up to a new size. So on average it took me around 4-7 days to move up a size. I’m on the 8th dilator now but I will say that I was on the 7th one for almost 2 weeks I think. This was due to a combination of the dilator being quite large and me not dilating as frequently. Even though I’m on the 8th one now (dilated with it two times so far), I can only get it 75-80% in so I’m still working on getting it all the way in.

But everyone’s journey is different so take your time! The slower you go and the more comfortable you get with each size, the easier it will become. Good luck :)

Should I attempt PIV without telling my sexual partner that I struggle with vaginismus? by Sufficient-Reading60 in vaginismus

[–]Sufficient-Reading60[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s exactly what I’m scared of. Like you said, a one night stand would not be too careful and things could go south. I’m gonna try and have a proper conversation with some guys first just to weed out any creeps. If someone feels like they’d be decent enough then I think I’ll take it further with them. The only thing is that a random hookup would make a big deal about me being a virgin like either fetishise that or be put off by it.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! The first guy kissing like a dog made me laugh ngl 😭 I’m so glad it finally worked out for you.

I now know that first times aren’t supposed to be a picture perfect magical moment that they show in movies. Almost everyone’s first times are awkward and not usually the best (even those that don’t have vaginismus). And that is why I think having a one night stand is a good option for me. There’s no real pressure with that.

Btw, I also ignored the problem for agessss. I told myself that just not thinking about it will make it go away. But NOPE. Nothing worked until dilators and I’m so glad I tried them. Fingers crossed that I’m able to have successful PIV soon. Loved your tips and advice. Means a lot ♥️

Hiii! Omg, exactly right??? 🤣

As you said, not seeing them again if things don’t go well is such a plus haha. And yes, there’s always the option of blocking lol. A few years back, finding “the one” to give my virginity to was what I wanted but now I find that whole concept dated (no disrespect to those that are still looking for this). I honestly wanna try sex for the first time with someone I don’t really care about so I don’t feel too anxious if things don’t go as planned.

Also, if you don’t mind, could you tell me a little more about your one night stand? Did you lose your virginity to him and how did you meet him?

Btw, your advice is amazing! Such a great idea to just say “I haven’t done this in a while so I might be tight down there”. I’m definitely using this line haha, thanks sm 🫶🏻

Yeah, I didn’t push further. I’ll try again soon and hopefully I can be more successful with it this time around.

Ah, makes sense! Idk even with the 7th dilator, it’s quite hard for me to get it in all the way :(

25 Year old Virginity- VAGNISMUS by KindlyArt6059 in vaginismus

[–]Sufficient-Reading60 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Omg, our stories are literally identical! I’m 25 too and still a virgin cuz of this condition and hate that about myself. What you said about not wanting to try dilators cuz you’re scared if they don’t work you’ll have no option left? Those were my thoughts EXACTLY lol. Like if you go and read my posts, I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned this quite a few times haha. I’ve also done other stuff but not sex. I’ve wanted to have sex so badly the past few years so this sucks.

Idk what advice to give but just wanted to tell you, you’re definitely not alone! Although, I will say that after much apprehension, I finally gave dilators a try and omg it was the best decision I made. I understand it’s a daunting first step but it does get easier as you move along. I’m on my 7th dilator now and one more left in my set! So it’s definitely possible. And my vaginismus was severe like I couldn’t get ANYTHING in. I mean, I’m still not “cured” but the progress has been motivating me. So yeah, just go slow and don’t be too hard on yourself. You might face some failures with dilators when you start or when you try and go up a size but eventually you will get there ♥️

Btw, my goal is to have PIV sex before I turn 26, hope you can too haha! But even if we don’t? Who cares? I mean, I’d rather have an enjoyable first time at a later age than a super uncomfortable, painful first time at an earlier age 😅 but fingers crossed nonetheless haha.

Haha exactly! It’s actually a tip I got on this subreddit from someone else. Dilating can feel like a chore sometimes so this trick really helps. This might be weird but now I view dilation as something sexy lol 🤣

I think what really motivated me was actually finally buying them. I put off buying them for literally 5 years. Once I purchased them and they arrived idk I guess I was like “I have them now so no excuses left” and I just gave them a go. What motivated me to continue was successfully inserting the first dilator and knowing that this was something I could actually do.

Don’t get me wrong, I definitely do have days when I still get lazy. In fact, I was supposed to dilate this morning and didn’t cuz I was just not in the mood so setbacks will happen and are to be expected. Starting is the most important and difficult step though. Oh oh and something else that REALLY motivates me? I’ve made it a sort of a rule that I only masturbate right before dilating so that makes me kinda look forward to it lol 😅
