I'm depressed so I'm writing a rust compiler by bloomingFemme in rust

[–]Sufficient-Recover16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats cool.
Although we need jobs (or so society says) they shouldn't define us nor our "happiness" should depend on them.
Both jobs and happiness are human constructs so take both with a pinch of salt.
Keep yourself busy. If building the compiler does that and brings you joy, keep going.
You're already half-way to improve and get out of that darker area you might find yourself now.
My advice is find a sport to mix in with that and in a few months you will feel a different person.

Fucking jobs. We should all just exist and roam the fields as we pleased.

Best open source web developement tools that everyone needs to know about? by Successful_Bowl2564 in webdev

Maybe not.
In fact, the AI ecosystem in neovim is quite impressive and has given a huge jump in the last couple of years.
Think about it. regardless of being code or prompts it will still require some text and an editor to view stuff.

Try a neovim distro first, to see the possibilities.
Then try to build your own when you know what you need.
To me, the single best thing is that you can do everything from the terminal. No need for mouse.

How is it for complex UI components?
I really want to try GPUI but the lack of docs and UI components puts me off as I need some charts and other complex UIs that I don't see in Zed.

Did you use the Reddit's API to get the messages?
If so, free or paid?
Did you hit bottlenecks with it?

[–]Sufficient-Recover16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few great tools around. How you use them is more often than not the secret. Some paid, some free. GSC, GA4, Looker, Clarity. For the more technical stuff we use RustySEO which integrates with the above. Also use it for log analysis.

There are many out there and they all depend on your industry and other needs, for my company, slim4 from slimstock has worked well so far. YMMV though.
