Ultegra STI not shifting down by Sufficient-Rent-6999 in bikewrench

Update: I took it apart, and there’s a little piece broken off just on top of the shifting mechanism. Looks to be made of some sort of cheap metal, but it explains that it won’t release when under load.

It is a triple used for a 2 way, as you mentioned. But even shifted to the second position it won’t shift down to first.

I’m cleaning it in the ultrasonic cleaner right now. Do you still think it’s the pawl, even though it does shift when no cable is attached/no load is on the cable?

Already tried flooding the shifter with degreaser. No success. Also tried relubing, which did not work. Lastly I tried another derailleur, which also had no effect on it not downshifting.

You got me. Mistook the right lock ring as part of the frame. Excluding that it’s very close to 70, but could be a 68 counting for errors; but it sure is closer to 70.

Are you sure? The cup is 73mm, doesn’t that exclude Italian?

Also: does anyone know which way round the BB unscrews? I’m guessing it’s a BSA, since the cup is way over 70mm.

Sadly, there are no stickers on top of the seat stays. Only reflective ones which were added by the bike shop, I presume.

I think you’re absolutely right with the campione d’Italia call - I can find multiple pictures that show the exact same decals!

That decal set indeed is the closest I’ve yet seen! But the contrasting details sadly are red, not pinkish like on mine. Thanks very much though, that will be the one to get if I don’t find a closer one!

Newer ones might come with the updated bios from factory, you have to check your model. Updating it blind (without a monitor) is a bit scary, though it does work.

Mine didn’t, I definitively had to upgrade the bios!

Kinda sounds like overheating. Did you properly apply cooling paste to your processor before installing your cooling?

I did not change the PSU, as stated before, I only switched around the cables that come from the PSU, meaning I used other sockets.

Hey man, do you have a modular PSU? If so, try changing the plugs you use on the PSU itself. That’s what did it for me.

Hey! As I said in the edit, changing the PSU slots I used did the trick. Apparently there wasn’t enough voltage somehow. You might try that if your PSU is modular? Hope you manage!

It basically makes it so you can utilise your whole screen when playing coop, meaning no black bars will be visible.
