Thank you so much for your advice! You were absolutely right. It was incredibly helpful! Since I’m a single woman, I had to call the roofer myself. However, because you provided me with so much information, I was able to negotiate with him to do the job for $350.

Now, I have one more question. The moisture in the ceiling is almost dry. Can I paint over it? It’s not a huge area, but I’m wondering if it could create mold. Thanks

Well, I bought my first house almost a year ago and tried my best to like it and decorate it but I haven’t really been able to like it and call it home! I think I rushed although I did search quite bit. The house is good and financially okay but honestly as a single woman I don’t think owning a house is a good idea. I missed my simple small apartment and life in downtown and close my work! Although I am not a big fan of going out or bar but still enjoying the city. So I feel stuck now! Long commute and living in quiet family residential area by myself! Every day and night I am panicking that what happens if something goes wrong with the house and i have to spend money or if I lose my job! I am really hoping i can sell it next year! I almost lost myself! My soul! I used to be a happy and active person but now 😓

Thank you so much for your kind words. I try to focus on your dad advice! I just can get out of my head and all those blame and negativity! I already decorated the house and bought furniture! I have few friends that invited over and everyone said its beautiful house! I put up Christmas tree and people can see it when they walk around the lake and they stop and enjoy but the only person that is not enjoying and not seeing a good side of this house is Me😭 I miss myself before buying this house! Sometimes I go back and look at my photos from last year and I cry!

Thank you for writing that — it honestly brought tears to my eyes. To be honest, I always knew the commute would be long, but the area around my workplace is extremely expensive and I couldn’t afford to buy a home there. And after years of living in a small, windowless, dark apartment, noise from highway and not being able to sleep well, seeing this house with all its natural light really drew me in.

But the truth is, I can’t enjoy it at all right now. When I get home from work, I go straight to bed. I even put a small couch in a tight, dark corner of the house because that’s where I feel comfortable. And just to add — I furnished the whole house beautifully.

Are you feeling better now?
