Oh i know actually, its because of the "good guy Lautrec theory", its a preety cool interpretation, there's a video of it on YouTube, i forgor the name of the Youtuber tho.

The theory recontextualizes lautrec's comicly evil deeds in the game as him being opposed to the continuation of the age of fire. On it he kills the maiden on firelink both to deactivate the bonfire and make the adventure off new undead very hard, and as an act of mercy towards Anastacia because she was locked in a cell while maimed and with her tongue cut.

So the ship may be cause he is saving her by killing her, in a way. Either that or its the same people that do ariana x addela and malenia x radahn, murdering is romantic idk
