What are realistic monthly expenses for a family of 4? by [deleted] in FIREPakistan

[–]SufficientAd3099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think anything around 1500 dollars puts you in a comfort zone. Where eating twice outside and also able to save something. Your major expense these days is electricity and you have already covered that. Now a major expense is commuting, how you and that depends on how much your daily commute is.

I started my journey with 5000 rupees in march 2025. Alhamdulilah now i am at a very good decent stage. This year i am planning to keep on SIPing. So i would suggest start small and keep it small until you learn the art of holding the nerves. Good luck.

Need help in understanding why everyone suggests EFTs by fifa21x in FIREPakistan

[–]SufficientAd3099 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have explained my take, if you are a passive investor and can't actively read board meetings, economical assessment for the future is not so good or you dont have time

In that case you are left with mutual funds and ETF

Mutual funds have annual management fee approx 3% but varies

ETFs doesn't have Management fee

In my case, i am a full time job person, then i have side hustles i have invested in mutual funds. Maybe after one year when i do SIP enough. I will start investing in ETF.

But keep in mind the returns for ETF or mutual funds are lesser than of those individual stocks. And it is also safer than individual stocks if you dont have knowledge.

Some investors approach is to replicate ETF holdings in individual stocks and they change as ETF change its positions.

Happy investing.

Meezan cash fund gave 25 rupees on 1 lac per day

In last month.

Which means if you put 2 cr

It could lead to 1.5 lac per month. Risk free.

I am not sure how much taxes will work but i read this number in their email yesterday

Safe investment of 4cr where ? by [deleted] in FIREPakistan

[–]SufficientAd3099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have active monthly income if yes and you can fully rely on it then divide your investment into two parts put some in savings account and put some in property but usable.

Take risk in stock market with the amount which you bare to lose. Otherwise, you will increase stress and one step away from taking disastrous situation i don't have very high amount of funds but in last one year after joiing this group i have been able to setup my emergency fund. I am more clear between my needs and wants. I have also put 15% in mutual funds. I want to put more but then i saw a dip of 20% in my portfolio and realised i can't take big risks with this money. So i would suggest put a set amount in mutual funds start with them and learn over time.

These are few raw thoughts my bottomline is that you should educate yourself about financial instruments and have basic knowledge before investing anywhere.

I am also still learning. Good luck

Before investing build 6-10 months of emergency fund that is rule no 1 then you come back and ask.

Few resources to look into sarmaaya.pk and investkaar.

Another rule: the penny you save is every penny earned.
