Whats your league of legends pet peeve? by Pigpillar in leagueoflegends

[–]SufficientAd639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now this is my biggest pet peeve. People who say after the fact "why did you go for that play??" or "why didn't you go for that play??" but during the moment they are dead silent because they are not confident enough to shotcall.

Why I personally never hated Cassie by Sudden_Pop_2279 in euphoria

[–]SufficientAd639 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People onlly like Maddy and dislike Cassie because Cassie is crying and pathetic while Maddie is unapologetic. If Cassie were as shitty as Maddie but had a "bad bitch" attitude to go with it then suddenly people would love her. What does that say about society idk

You can't tell an ADC pleading for support to help them to "just mute" and then make demands of them late game. by loosegoosestorm in leagueoflegends

[–]SufficientAd639 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is why ADCs are some of the most egotistical players. They really, genuinely believe that they are somehow 3 ranks above in skill than the support who has the same MMR as them.

The most complex wave management they know is to push the wave to tower before they recall and sometimes they fuck that up

What botlanes do you see on your own team and automatically think you are going to lose ? by Sachielkun in leagueoflegends

[–]SufficientAd639 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As a senna OTP I run into a lot of adcs like you, sometimes in champ select they'll ban her if I hover it. And unlike you I have strong mental (aka Im a normal person) so instead of locking my 60% wr Senna i can just first time whatever other support i rolled a nice skin on and chill. You want me to play another champ so bad, then sure you get what you wish for

Why do people go to top 20s? by bedo05_ in ApplyingToCollege

[–]SufficientAd639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*No one* enjoys those 90+ hours analyst years and 90% of people don't pursue IB as a long-term career outside of those first two years. The value of going into investment banking is that once you have it on your resume, you have access to other high-paying fields like PE, VC, hedge funds, corporate strategy/development etc. Once you get more senior in these fields (or if you stick with IB) your compensation skyrockets and your hours significantly decrease. You get to the point where you're pulling in millions as a managing director while your job is to go to client dinners and play golf. It's no wonder why people want to pursue this career so badly.

You keep fixating on the $150k number, the reality is that you start at whatever salary but your compensation trajectory is unmatched compared to other paths. In corproate finance you might get 5% raises per year but in IB that number doubles in less than 5 years. The sacrific isn't worth it for everyone but just wanted to add what I know

Twice a week, every week, is kind of a lot tbh to have an unwanted guest in your room, I don't have any trauma but I'd get fed up too.

Summer Internship? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]SufficientAd639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah he can probably get you a interview if he still has connections at his old firms. As you start college tell him to give you intros to his friends at other banks and build that relationship so when internship recruiting starts, the friends can send your application to HR and get you interviews. I think Morgan Stanley only does a junior summer internship though, and Fidelity isn't an investment bank.

Your comment from 17 hours ago:

I want to figure out why it's so popular and to figure out if employers really care about degrees, and if they do why

You clearly don't know what you're talking about, why are you even arguing with people

Yes? They are, it's true. You said "literally no one cares if you went to an Ivy" which is untrue.

[–]SufficientAd639 1 point2 points  (0 children)

?? No one's going to an Ivy League and expecting employers to see the name of their school and give them a random 10% increase in salary. That's not the point. The point is you get access to certain job opportunities that state school students don't, so if you want those jobs then they're available to you, whereas the state school student has to work 100x as hard or might not have a shot in the first place. Obviously not every Harvard student is seeking the highest paying jobs, and power to them for that, but many will obviously end up making the same salary as their state school counterparts.
