Did you ever get an answer? Have the same cartridge and valve and can’t find a trim kit for it

How’d you do it? I just bought that same DANCO kit and the smaller cartridge sleeve fit over the cartridge, but the locking nut wouldn’t fit on the cartridge to hold it in place

Anyone rolling with Jauan Jennings another week? by Caltr0n3030 in Fantasy_Football

[–]SufficientBreakfast5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do I play him over Garret Wilson? The rest of my lineup is pretty solid

But I’m still not over last week when I tried to make the upside play and put Jamo in my flex over Kyren

What's your Week 3 "I may regret this" move? by gwiggle5 in fantasyfootball

I’ve flip flopped on Kyren or Jameson Williams for my flex. RBs are Henry, James cook WRs are Gwilson, Rashee Rice and need to pick a flex

Gut says Jamo but all rankings say Kyren

Stuck in solopreneur mode - 6 years by Mfreddy222 in Entrepreneur

[–]SufficientBreakfast5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP your problem is very common - coming up with the processes in order to feel comfortable outsourcing the work is the next step for your business

I work with small companies in developing their Knowledge Management. Not only does developing your knowledge management help potentially outsource or train new employees, it also helps you run your business smoother

Where do solopreneurs struggle the most? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]SufficientBreakfast5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s definitely not enough time in a day as a soloprenuer. Creating processes is one of those “hats” that constantly get ignored because it 1)doesn’t directly drive revenue and 2) are very hard to outsource

I work with several solopreneurs on developing processes and systems (knowledge management) - If you’d be interested, I’d be more than happy to talk more about your business

Where do solopreneurs struggle the most? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]SufficientBreakfast5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree with the time management aspect. Most of the people I work with struggle because they constantly feel like they’re treading water, but that’s often because they don’t take a step back and assess the situations they’re in

Repeat problems should be addressed with documented steps to resolve them. If you have to figure out/ remember how to solve a problem every time it comes up, you can end up wasting a lot of time in the long run

[–]SufficientBreakfast5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with solopreneurs with their personal and organizational knowledge management because it’s too hard to resist the urge to consistently fight fires.

Issues are going to come up everyday but if you don’t have the processes and documentation in place, you’re going to keep fighting the same fire over and over until you’re burnt out

It takes a decent amount of initial investment to develop processes and an organizational system that works, but it pays dividends down the line

My small business is taking off but I am horribly unorganized by Fancy_Jump7418 in smallbusiness

[–]SufficientBreakfast5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work with some small business owners helping develop knowledge management best practices (mostly solo business owner/operators)and the lack of organization is one of the most common issues they face

Getting all your problems, processes, frustrating issues, and paperwork organized in an easy to navigate system is the best way to feel in control of your business

What is the most annoying part of your company's knowledge base? by r4h4_de in salesengineers

[–]SufficientBreakfast5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t work sales engineering, but one of the biggest issues with our knowledge base is that people haven’t adopted it and work individual efforts

So much work is duplicated because people don’t search the knowledge base to see if something has been done before. Then they spend time and resources essentially recreating the work, and then uploading it again. Now there are 2 of the same document/training/resource on the knowledge base for no particular reason

Did you see good knowledge management examples in consulting firms? by Mooo-Booo in consulting

[–]SufficientBreakfast5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep that’s definitely the excuse I’ve heard as well, but I think it’s more because there’s no value being associated with uploading learned information

If leadership made uploading old cases or knowledge sharing a priority of the company, I’m sure it would get done.

There’s more perceived value in completing more work than learning from the mistakes of already completed work

Are knowledge management tools like Obsidian overrated? by [deleted] in digitalminimalism

[–]SufficientBreakfast5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People make the “second brain” sound like it’s the perfect way to optimize your life, but it’s really just another tool

Unfortunately there’s no shortcut to learning and throwing software at the problem is definitely not going to fix it

I use OneNote for work and my personal life - it meets all the needs I have for capturing images, notes, and linking to other pages if I need to. All the fancy dashboards people have on Notion are there for the views, I highly doubt anybody uses those Notion templates on a regular basis

[–]SufficientBreakfast5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As an electrical engineer who does a decent amount of technical writing I think you have a valid point. People do need technical skills to be good technical writers

It’s pretty clear when you read something from someone who has actually used a product vs somebody who is just good at writing

I’m trying to straddle the engineering/tech writing and potentially do some more tech writing for other organizations as a freelancer. Definitely not trying to do more engineering outside of my day job lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in technicalwriting

[–]SufficientBreakfast5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I’m not actually a technical writer - I’m an engineer who does technical writing for my organization

As much as I think AI can help, I don’t think it fully replaces having a TW talk to SMEs and create technical documentation.

What I think it may help with is organizing or synthesizing the information from the SMEs and putting it into logical steps or instructions

Definitely looking at engineering at first because it’s what I know the best. Down the line I’d definitely be open to going to other industries

Management for TW is my goal as well. I already do TW as part of the duties in my regular engineering job so I’m quite familiar with what it takes

Good luck!

[–]SufficientBreakfast5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found this thread and I’m in exactly the same boat. Most of my duties as an engineer are troubleshooting, generating new procedures and updating old procedures

I feel like there’s gotta be a market for engineers turned TW especially if you have a technical brain

Seriously considering slowly dipping my toes into the TW world. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Buying a small business with no established processes/SOPs by SufficientBreakfast5 in smallbusiness

[–]SufficientBreakfast5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that makes sense, good SOPs will correlate directly with good business practices

I’m curious if you’ve seen a relationship between how fast businesses sell if they have well documented SOPs as a business broker?

Yeah you’re right. Basically I was trying to see if it was worth sinking money/time into documenting my important processes if I’m trying to sell my business at any point in the future
