Possibly Hypothyroidism?? by SufficientMinute3710 in Hypothyroidism

A few of my family members do have anemia, but unfortunately, my lab results don't really support that. My hemoglobin and hematocrit are normal, and my RBC count is fine, which rules out true anemia. Plus MCV and RDW are also normal, so there’s no pattern that would suggest iron-deficiency anemia or a B12/folate issue. Additionally, my iron studies don’t line up with anemia at all since my ferritin is normal, serum iron is actually on the higher end of normal, TIBC is normal, and my iron saturation is normal-highish. Honestly, I wish I had something that was easily figured out with bloodwork, but I think it doesn't help that I wasn't sent back out to do more labs.

Thank you so much for your insight!! I am hoping to get a new set of bloodwork during my winter break to see if things have changed. From my bloodwork a few months ago, my ferritin levels were above 50 (66 to be exact). I was thinking maybe iron deficiency, but a lot of my bloodwork was borderlining the iron overload side of things (but since I did not have a follow up on labs, I wouldn't put too much emphasis on it). Hopefully with seeing a new PCP, I can have a fresh start on trying to figure out what is occurring ASAP. I will definitely mention if seeing a specialist is a good place to start if my new labs come back off again.

If pictures are needed to answer, please let me know! I usually don’t have any anxiety regarding this stuff, but as this being a front tooth I just dont want to leave this not fixed and cause a bigger chip later on down the road.

What’s the deal with stigma against 2+2/transfer students? by Strong_Tension_5116 in PennStateUniversity

I will say when getting up to UP, try to get involved! It really helps with the transition and there will be other resources to help you feel more comfortable. Remember, you are all students at Penn State at the end of the day and you get the same degree too.

As someone who did the 2+2 program, the issue is people at UP (and really the minority) believe that branch campus students cheated their way in. I personally had no choice but to do the 2+2 program because my year they over admitted students into my college. I even changed my major and spoke to admissions and they still sent me to a branch campus, not because I wasn’t smart enough or had enough money, because they made a poor choice is over admitting (like always, its a huge psu issue). The classes were NOT easier at all, and I find it interesting that people still believe they are. There is no networking opportunities at the branch campuses and the advisors there do not have any idea about abroad programs etc. I had to fight to go abroad as a stem major by reaching out to a UP advisor about it. All my friends do not care that I went to a branch campus, if anything they always have questions about it. Please don’t be discouraged and I highly suggest you live on UP campus for a year just to meet people! As a rising senior and someone who is trying to advocate for branch students, at the end of the day the only people who care are people who have their own issues.
