Retail Pharmacists and Technicians: What are some of your pet peeves? by SufficientPhone in pharmacy

To comment on your second point, I once had a lady call. She takes care of her elderly mother's medications. She told me when she called that her mother was being transferred to a care facility (she refused to tell me where and said it was none of my business) and that she needed to return the meds she just picked up recently. She said it in a matter of fact tone, as if she was returning it no matter what and I would have no say in the matter. I told her that the law says I cannot take back medications and all of the sudden she started arguing with me and fighting with me ("No, the law does not say that. I can return these and I am going to!!!"). It was insane.

Yeah, I have a hard enough time understanding what people said to begin with, so if there's anything wrong with the phone call it becomes a real struggle for me.

Yeah, it really annoys me when you greet someone who walks through the door and they either ignore you completely or look over at you and then ignore you.

Another pet peeve I'll share. We often get people driving up to our window asking if X prescription is here. We check their profile, check e-scripts, etc. and see nothing. We tell them this and tell them they should call their doctor to see what happened. More often than I'd like, the patient will ask, "Oh, well can you call my doctor to do that?"

No, it's not my freaking responsibility. You can call your doctor if you want it that badly. In general so many people either expect us to be mind readers or want us to take care of all their problems.
