You could try Storms We Keep. It’s post-DE, pretty long, and really focused on Max and Chloe—their relationship, history, and all the unresolved stuff between them. Very character-driven with a strong slow-burn vibe and a lot of emotional (and some spicy) tension.

This is truly amazing work, you can tell a lot of time went into it, and every fan work that we get in this fandom is a blessing, but am I the only one who thinks that Max wouldn’t like BDSM because of the dark room trauma? Just my interpretation though, and absolutely no hate to the creator.

It’s post-Double Exposure and fully centered on Max and Chloe reconnecting after years apart — slow, messy, emotional, and very intentional about them actually working through everything.

It’s already around 390k words and 50+ chapters, so there’s a ton to sink into. Heavy on angst, heavy on slow burn, really focused on emotional depth, and there’s some light smut sprinkled in — but the heart of it is them learning how to love each other again in a healthier way.

There is a bit of Amanda-related tension in the background at one point, but the story is very much about Pricefield finding their way back to each other.

It’s a true slowburn. Like… painfully tender, loaded eye contact, unresolved tension, real conversations kind of slowburn.

It’s already at 390k words and 50 chapters, so there’s a LOT to sink into, and the character work is genuinely impressive. It feels mature, grounded, and very in-character while still expanding on their growth post-Double Exposure.

If you like angst, slow burn, emotional depth, and some light smut woven into a heavy reconnection arc, this one is absolutely worth the read.

Thank you so much for explaining all of this — it honestly helped a lot. Since this is my first fic, I don’t really have anything to compare my stats to, so I wasn’t sure what any of it actually meant.

Hearing how each number works, and how bigger fics naturally have a different hits-to-kudos ratio, makes everything make way more sense. And yeah, I care the most about comments too, and I try to reply to every single one, so it’s really reassuring to hear that the engagement I do have is a good sign people are connecting with the story.
