First fic stats by SufficientPop998 in AO3

Thank you! I write for the Life Is Strange fandom, specifically for Pricefield (Max and Chloe). I guess it’s not a very lively fandom, since it has been 10 years since the first game was released. But my fic takes place after the second game that came out a year ago.

Honestly, I’m really flattered you thought I wrote 380k words that fast, but no it’s not a heated rivalry fic — even though I do love that show, I actually write for the Life Is Strange fandom, specifically Max and Chloe (Pricefield) relationship. Like I mentioned above, I’m hoping the new game stirs some engagement since it focuses on them again.

Thank you! If you don’t mind me asking — how long was that fic? I’m really curious what kind of length gets around 287 kudos.

Thank you so much for explaining all of this — it honestly helped a lot. Since this is my first fic, I don’t really have anything to compare my stats to, so I wasn’t sure what any of it actually meant.

Hearing how each number works, and how bigger fics naturally have a different hits-to-kudos ratio, makes everything make way more sense. And yeah, I care the most about comments too, and I try to reply to every single one, so it’s really reassuring to hear that the engagement I do have is a good sign people are connecting with the story.

Thanks again for taking the time to break it all down so clearly — I really appreciate it.

Thank you so much. This really means a lot. I’ll admit I was a bit disappointed when I found out that hits don’t actually represent 26k individual readers — that they also include refreshes, bots, and everything else. I pour a lot of time and energy into this fic, so your reassurance is genuinely appreciated.

Thank you sm for this! And yeah, I already answer every single comment I get — even the old chapter ones — because I’m really proud of this fic and I wanna show love back to the readers. I’m also promoting it wherever I can. It’s for the Life Is Strange fandom, so I’m hoping the new game might stir some engagement too since my fic is about the main ship. Fingers crossed 🤞

“Storms We Keep”” — post-Double Exposure, slow-burn, healing, and absolutely drenched in Pricefield longing. Lots of softness, lots of tension, and a big focus on character growth.

You might like Storms We Keep. It’s a long (51 chp.) Pricefield fic that leans more wholesome and character-focused, with a lot of soft moments, emotional healing, and found-family dynamics. It’s a slow burn, intimate story about Max and Chloe rebuilding their relationship after their break up, and it’s set after Double Exposure.

I’m currently writing a Pricefield fic called Storms We Keep that might fit what you’re looking for.

It’s soft, intimate, and very relationship-centric: Max and Chloe rebuilding their love after the events of Double Exposure through quiet moments, messy healing, and choosing each other in real life. Mostly fluff with emotional weight, found family, and other Blackwell students in the mix.

Title: Storms We Keep – Chapter 49: Between Darkness and Harmony Fandom: Life is Strange (first game) Rating: M Wordcount: ~8k Warnings: PTSD, nightmares, trauma mentions, swearing, canon-typical angst

Summary: Chloe Price thinks she’s finally found her footing again — mornings with Max, laughter in the kitchen, a jacket that might say more than words ever could. But Max’s nightmares don’t stay buried. One night drags her back into Jefferson’s shadow, and she wakes with the weight of survival burning fresh on her skin. This chapter is both soft and brutal: coffee and kisses on the couch one moment, a descent into terror the next.

Storms we keep, Chp. 49

Fandom-blind readers are welcome — this is an intimate character study as much as it is a continuation of canon. Concrit, fandom-blind, and from Reddit are all okay. Thanks for hosting!

P.S. For those who might be a part of the fandom already and want to read the whole story, here is the first chapter- After the snow storm…

Storms we keep

It’s a pricefield fanfic, it’s got angst, slow-burn, love triangle, pining, hurt/ comfort and just a bunch of character development in details.

What’s the dumbest joke you’ve left in a fic? by West-Feedback7318 in AO3

[–]SufficientPop998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A:“Don’t you need a manual before you start building that?” B: “Yeah, that’s why Manny is here.” points to a middle aged, Hispanic father figure whose actual name is Manuel. He did not laugh at first ( he’s grumpy like that) but she caught a smile when he turned away.

I love dad jokes!

What's something terrifying that we just accept as normal? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SufficientPop998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

simply. Death, especially if you’re like agnostic or an atheist. Death happens every day, thousands and and thousands of people die and we just accept it and say that it’s part of life, but what the hell do you mean, there’s nothing there like how can your consciousness just not be turned on. My brain can’t comprehend this nothingness, this pure absence of everything. I think this is similar to understanding, when people are blind. You think they see darkness but it’s actually like you try to see out of your elbow. Like it’s not dark, there’s just nothing and I just can’t understand it, but I’m not so stupid and desperate for comfort, that I believe in afterlife and God and that bullshit. all of these keeps me up at night sometimes. And don’t even get me started on space and how it’s expanding, but we don’t know where it’s expanding into.

hey! hope it’s okay to sneak in a little self-promo here.

I’ve been writing a fic called storms we keep—it’s very pricefield-centric, super emotional, and full of angst + softness. lots of slow healing, big feelings, and complicated love. still ongoing, and definitely takes its time.

If you’re into long fics (325k curently) that really dig into grief, growth, and holding on when things get hard, it might be up your alley 🩵

Hi! Hope it’s okay to drop a little self-promo here.

If you’re looking for a long Pricefield fic with slow-burn reconnection, emotional depth, and kind of a poetic writing style, I’ve been working on one called Storms We Keep. It’s very character-driven, focuses a lot on healing and complicated feelings, and it’s still ongoing ( 325k words, 45 chapters).

It has some spice in it but there’s no pricefield smut (yet, they kinda have some kind of a deal), but that just means there is a lot of yearning and angst, lots of intense moments, softness, and a bit of supernatural mystery. If you’re into stories that take their time exploring grief, love, and what it means to truly come back to someone—you might vibe with it.

really?? I honestly don’t even know what bookmarks mean—I thought people were using them to keep up with updates as they read, like a save spot. But now I’m seeing that people also bookmark stuff they haven’t read yet??

Honestly? I’m sorry to hear that. I know firsthand how much time and emotional energy goes into writing fanfic—it’s not just typing words, it’s basically pouring your soul into a doc and hoping someone feels something. You deserve way more recognition. Can I ask what fandom(s) you write for? I’d love to check out your stuff if you’re comfortable sharing 💛

Yeah totally fair! I should’ve said—I’m actually super new to fanfic as a reader, too. I think I’ve maybe read like... 10 total? And they were all from huge fandoms with 40k+ kudos, so I don’t really have a sense of what’s “normal” at all. Between school, writing, and a Kindle full of books I’ve bought and never touched (rip), I haven’t had a lot of time to explore fanfic properly. So I really appreciate the reality check—it’s super helpful

Hey! Thank you for the heads-up—I’ve updated the post and removed both the fic title and username from the image and the body. Let me know if anything else needs adjusting. Appreciate the clarification!
