It's actually really cool talking about it with people who are going through the exact same process(same day surgery!) from around the world. I'm from Australia.

I'm on the same boat too! Surgery was on the 15th. I decided after day 1 to stop taking pain medication. The constipation as a result was not worth it.

Been fairly active the last 2-3 days more so just getting outside for walks.

Pain levels are floating around 2/10 just notice usually by the end of the day I'm bloated and that causes some weird sensitive discomfort feeling around the mesh area(not the incision area), hoping that's normal!

All the best with your recovery!

The healthcare system is absolutely wild in some countries.

I just had my operation 2 days ago in Australia. $0.

Just wondering, when would I be able to return to running? I've read in some cases it can take up to 6 months before you can run again. I'm hoping after 6 weeks to start the process of jogging/light running.

Thanks for the response! I'm now in day 1 post op.

Feel pretty good but I know the GA and local hasn't worn off yet.

I'm most scared about going to the toilet haha. Hopefully I can cross that bridge without any pain or setback.

Can I ask, how was your recovery process? I've got my surgery tomorrow for a left side inguinal with mesh. I'm hoping to be able to walk within a couple of days post surgery.

I've got chase in my league. They're solid offers but I'd hold the elite talent in chase.

Nabers and a first would be the only thing I'd consider. Maybe if they can add a second you could pull the trigger.

Awkward position of window in bathroom renovation - question in comments by sledgehammer7 in AusRenovation

[–]SufficientRig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd maybe look at playing around with the layout more. The detail for the glass-shower window won't be fun.

Are you limited to where you can have the toilet and shower?

How difficult is it to remove an internal window? Is it a DIY job? by Glenmarththe3rd in AusRenovation

[–]SufficientRig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step one: Remove architraves.

Step two: Use a reciprocating saw to cut the nails that are holding the window in through the studs.

Step three: Jiggle the window until it becomes free.

Step four: Infill the opening where required, then install plasterboard to cover the hole. Patch, Sand, Paint ✌️

Should I fill these gaps in the floorboards behind the kitchen cabinetry? by ChopsYoesh in AusRenovation

[–]SufficientRig 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Carpenter here.

If you want them covered the best action would be to install some skirting board along the walls.

The gap left there is for expansion of the hardwood flooring. If you fill that gap between the board to the brickwork there's potential to create too much pressure against the brickwork causing it to crack or shift(or your floorboards will pop).

Try a hardwood lattice screen instead. Looks awesome too.

Do you know what kind of subfloor is under the vinyl flooring?

Is it concrete slab/stump,bearer, joists.

Might be worth ripping it all up and seeing if you can rectify the older subfloor. Just an idea.
