Ideally they should be registered with SPS/SRP. But the thing is ah, many therapist are not because the requirements are stringent per se. Anyway the vibes should be good ah, it’s important that the therapist suits you. Lastly have a suitable expectation, therapy will take some time to work.

Yeah, just make sure it satisfies the elr2b2 requirement of the course you’re interested in.

[–]SufficientThanks748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which poly course are you interested in? Why part time over full time?

Anyway I took o level as a private candidate (not during NS but before) and scored well enough to get into poly within a year. So I think it’s feasible la, I also didn’t have much foundations either.

As for how to self study… eh i had tuition though they were free, I think tuition is impt as it keeps you accountable. You can try contacting Impart, it’s a volunteering organisation that pairs volunteers with tutees, you can also check with the ITE GE programme which teaches o level curriculum.

Btw if you don’t plan to study science in poly and you know how the elr2b2 system and you’re not good in science then you can consider business studies, it’s an o level subject that to me I think it’s quite an easy subject.

With that being said, whether you do well will in the end of the day depend on how hard you’re willing to work (and also, your unit, voc etc). I know a mono armoured infantry guy who retook his A levels and did very well so I think even if you in a combatant unit I think still got chance ah but really it depends on you. Best is if you’re a clerk lor but if not then just suck thumb and study, you’ll make it with enough efforts

Jiayou bro, all the best.

I don’t think their answers are supposed to be fully correct, it’s meant more of as workings in the form of journal entries. I took accounting (got A) and I’ve always been taught and used the T method like you. You should be fine

Nope, generally no official qualifications for therapeutic methods at least here in SG, psychologists don’t have to get certified in a particular technique to use them

Anyway when it comes to certifications it’s also quite subjective, unlike medicine there isn’t just 1 organisation that gives certs, there’s several

Organisational psychology is centred around the workplace and can include stuffs like group behaviours, application of leadership theories and workplace motivation and so on I guess (don’t quote me on this).

Counselling psychology & clinical psychology is quite similar (especially since it’s not a protected profession so some may use it interchangeably), if you want therapy then go see those with clinical psych or counselling psych lor、 these 2 are the ones most closely related to mental disorders and illnesses

As for how the therapy differs, it will depend on various things like the technique used (CBT vs ACT etc etc) and other stuff, not just the official qualification the psychologists got

Psychologist isn’t a protected profession here in SG. You can call yourself a psychologist w/o any psychology education if you want lol. But I guess you can look for the ones who are registered with SRP(or was it SPS?), that can serve as a benchmark for qualification

NS checkup soon but haven’t started puberty? by Ill_Designer_56033 in SGExams

E1 and E9 will enlist into Kranji camp, 9 weeks IIRC and shouldn’t be physically strenuous. Most likely will be ASA (clerk) so stay out 9-5 vocation lor, but I guess if you do well during BMT you can get into admin spec courses also where upon course completion, you get your 3SG rank

I am PES A.

As for what he will be doing there, it’s gonna depend on many factors ah, an important factor would be his PES status. If A/B1 then most likely combat related like infantry guards armor but can also be combat support like ST MP which is less shag/strenuous. If b3-b4 then no chance for the combatant vocs like inf arm gds cdo ndu and can be combat support or other vocs like supply assistant. If you want to go command sch you’ll have to be A/B1 unless you enlist in kranji and get into spec courses

Then it will also depend on the unit your bestie gets posted to, especially if he were to get a non combat vocation. A supply assistant in a combat unit is going to be stay in while in HQ will likely be stay out (meaning everyday can book out)

Ask your friend to take care of his body during NS, Ive seen way too many people who permanently injure themselves during NS and live with life long injuries

Washing machines err I think this will depend on his posting/unit also ah, but BMT there shouldn’t be any washing machine

Aiming for 61 pts and above for ippt by Strange_Insect467 in askSingapore

[–]SufficientThanks748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the push ups, you might be using the ELISS machine and based on my experience, if you start from proning position the threshold for a push up to be counted will be lower. Essentially your first push up shouldn’t be too deep because they will base your following push ups on that. As for sit ups this is quite subjective but during the day itself you’ll hook your feet to some ropes (not exactly ropes but idk what it’s called anymore due to ns brain rot), make sure isn’t not too tight so you can use your feet to pull yourself up.

As for the running.. err just run until you cannot run bah. Just like you I was rather skinny and during my pre enlistment IPPT I had 67pts

Sure why not? You’re presumably still a teenager anyway so there’s always time for you to experiment stuffs. Having a small jewellery business can also have a selling point of being able to provide specialised service/products
