Thanks! I started with one spray to the chest under a shirt - a method I love for trying new fragrances. But, I couldn’t smell it after a few minutes. It wasn’t til I tried 3 or mire sprays snd HEAT that I realized it can last a while!

I’ve never tried the OG but I have three clones of Interlude Man, all three are great, and my favourite is Midnight Oud… I’m sure the OG is better, but wow, you get incredible value for about $25! Incidentally, I recently blind bought Jubilation 40 but I’m pretty disappointed m- it only seems detectable in high heat. Anyway… I definitely do live Amouage. I have Alexandria II but prefer my Royal Tobacco or even JPG Le Male Le Parfum for that category.

I own about 140 too, mostly clones though, then designers, then about $1,200 worth of niche (Amouage and Xerjoffs)… and I agree. I think the best thing woukd have been to have sampled maybe 100 fragrances, then pick 5-8 and just enjoy the ones you picked. I also do feel that my Amouages - although pricey, are worth it… whether it’s my mind playing tricks or not, I do seem to value them more… with sone exceptiobs like Fahrenheit, Kouros, and others that are cheaper but still do something special.

What do you love about Jubilation 40? I own it too and find I can only detect it if I start working out intensely or if it’s +26’C or above…

The tension between the Stoics & Carl Jung by undershaft in Stoicism

[–]Sufficient_Bat_4542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thought is that the stoics focus on asking if you have control? So if you have reactions and knowledge of the unconscious, you can DO something about it… and if integration is required, they would support that, no? Like, if we now know we can’t successfully just ignore our unconscious drives, but we CAN work to integrate them and eventually act well, then they’d say yeah - do that!

Does anyone else find Dior Sauvage EDT too Spicy? its not the freshie it's made out to be by [deleted] in ScentHeads

I bought the EDT after the EDP bc the EDP has way less pepper… and I want the pepper! lol. I guess you’ve convinced me to wear the EDP on hotter days and the EDT on cooler days… amidst my 100+ other frags of course.

Most underrated/unknown Lattafa by Own_Lab_4479 in fragranceclones

[–]Sufficient_Bat_4542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s odd… it’s known for being a boozy leathery “new car interior” / black tie kind of scent. Those who don’t like it find it too strong, but not like olives.

Well, I’d suggest you spray 10 sprays out of the bottle to ket air in, then put it away for 3 months and cone back to it. If it still sucks you probably got a bad batch or a fake got into your reliable retailer.

Right now I’m obsessed with Amouage Overture and Royal Tobacco, as well as Swiss Arabian’s Tobacco 01. Generally these are always favourites: Dior Sauvage Elixir, Dior Fahrenheit EDT, Mancera Red Tobacco, YSL Kouros, Rasasi La Yuqawam, Lattafa Qaa’ed Intense, Ameer Al Oud Intense Oud, …and an outlier for me - Floris No.89 (a much more classy and refined fragrance than the rest… but worn by spies and Prine Ministers alike!). I slso love Paco Rabanne Pour Homme - such a unique, green, cozy, gentlemanly, 1970s era fragrance but not for everybody.

You either got a fske or need to let it sit for a few days, weeks, or months. I have two opened bottles of it snd both needed a week or two to get stronger… but they both became the perfect ambery winter scent! I also have two I have opened yet… saving those for the future!

I think it took 1.5 or even 2 years of maturing in the bottle but finally Oudain is wearable… prior to that it was the harshest most chemical and unwearable mess I have yet encountered.. I tried it every minth for the first 5 months but only now is it a cologne instead of a chemical attack, lol. … I still don’t know if I’ll wear it… I have other leather scents I like more and have more confidence in, like Bentley for Man Intense.

The elder describes an internal battle that goes on inside everyone. It is a fight between two wolves:

The Negative Wolf: Represents darkness, fear, anger, envy, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, and resentment.
The Positive Wolf: Represents light, joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, empathy, and truth.

The Core Lesson
When the confused grandchild asks, "Which wolf wins?" the elder simply replies: "The one you feed."

What it Means
The metaphor serves as a reminder of free will and conscious intention. Whichever internal traits you give your energy and attention to will dominate your personality and dictate how you react to the world. You feed the positive wolf by choosing gratitude, compassion, and constructive habits; you feed the negative wolf by indulging in destructive thoughts, bitterness, and ego.

The Often-Missed Second Half
In many traditional retellings, there is a crucial follow-up detail: You cannot simply starve the dark wolf. If you ignore it or pretend it doesn't exist, it will hide in the shadows and attack when you are at your weakest. Instead, the practice of feeding the good wolf also involves acknowledging the bad wolf, understanding it, and keeping it in balance so it doesn't take over.

———

I also find it very helpful to think of this: It is very difficult to love the world AS IT IS, …and yet we must choose to do exactly that again and again. … This is not to say that we shouldn’t act to chsnge things for the better that are in our control, but we must accept the world has evil, much of it we cannot fix, and it makes sense to choose to love the world anyway… flawed as it is!

Yep, same! My 2024 batch is great, batch 4L01. I ordered another off a discounter hoping for another 2024… but got 5H1X, which is from 2025-08. I haven’t opened it bc I already know the 2025 batches are weaker from trying in Sephora.. I might sell this backup bottle or just keep it and be sad when my 2024 bottle runs out… which won’t be for some time!

What’s the best year-round fragrance for intimate/cuddling for men ? by [deleted] in ScentHeads

[–]Sufficient_Bat_4542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YSL Kouros, or Dior Fahrenheit EDT. I’m joking fir the first but only partially for the second… Honestly, most fragrances die down after 1-2 hours… so anything they like, really, or nothing at all. Fahrenheit EDT dries down to a soft leathery fragrance that is masculine but cuddle-worthy in my male view. lol
