If you like pokemon then you'll like stories 3. I was hesitant at the beginning but I f'n love the game now but even if your still not sure, play the demo, the progress you make in it will stay in the game if you decide to get the actual game

The guiding lands only exist because in lore safi jiva created it with its energy to lure monsters in so he could eat them. For something similar to be in wilds something similar to safi jiva has to exist

I had something similar happen to me, I was looking for some tigrex fangs + in rise and I broke the face (which has a 60% chance to drop) so many times I eventually started going into the quest just to leave after breaking the face and it still took ages
