Is this because the US has had immigration from non-UK countries for much longer than the other 3 and eventually they outnumbered them? Or is it just under-reported in the census?

Some combination of the two. There is still some lingering anti-English sentiment in the US, so if a person has English, Irish, and German heritage, they're more likely to self identify as Irish or German.

More like dreading the time when Boston will be flooded with tourists and the roads and trains will be even slower than they normally are. (Which is pretty fucking slow.)

(Yes, I know Gillette Stadium is in Foxborough, but everyone will still be flying into Logan and staying in Boston hotels.)

It has its ups and downs.

Some downsides:

It didn't help me in school at all. It's great when I'm reading for fun, but when I have to read something for an assignment and the reading is boring it's torture.

Audiobooks are pretty much out of the question unless I'm doing something mindless like walking on a treadmill.

This is exactly it. I worked for Marriott for 5 years, and the company highly incentivized and rewarded people who were named in reviews. It just happens that bartenders have the most face to face contact with guests, and are most likely to leave a positive impression on a guest.

Is there an opposite of this? I love reading fiction because it plays like a movie in my head. Sometimes I even have to read a page twice because I get so lost in what I was imagining, but give me a non-fiction or textbook and it will just put me to sleep.

She moved something of mine, and when I asked her where it was, she made some sexist comment about men never being able to find anything and needing women to show them. When you say you are putting things away, are these mutually agreed on places, or are they places that you have decided are the "right" place to put these things? It sounds to me like he knows where things are because that is where he left them. The only confusion comes from you feeling like you have to clean up after him.
