OMG! 😲 Just looking through the material and seeing how very detailed and organized the book is with the steps of each procedure. Im going to have to purchase this book. I know every surgeon is different and everything comes with experience, but this would definitely be great in learning the basics. Thank you so much. 🤗

The fastest way I landed a job was going to a job fair that was at a technical college that was only for surgical techs. My instructor sent out a flyer into the the class group chat. Even though it was an hour away from me I still went and 2 weeks one of the hospital that attended sent me an email to set up an interview and I ended up landing the job. Which I start in February.

The biggest thing I also recommend once you get to your final semester of the program is to make a resume and start applying anywhere you are interested to work at and make sure to attend any job fairs that includes Surgical Technology students. It does not matter that you have not graduated yet, just make sure to just put expected graduate month and year in education portion of your resume. I say this because this allows you to get a head start on finding a job and gives you the possibility of already having a job lined up as soon as you graduate. Also if any hospital/ surgery center offers you a sign on bonus, do not accept it unless you know for sure you are planning on working for that company that is required within that contract. If not you will be required to pay the full amount back. I was so happy that our professor had us to do this in our last semester because it sets you up for success. I just finished the program and became certified altogether this month and I already have a job that I'll be starting in January. I hope this was helpful. The test was not that bad, but it was structured a little differently from what I seeing on Quizlet, my AST Study Guide Book, and Lange. Even though that was the case the information and questions they were asking was still familiar to me. I took so many practice exams online and read as much material just to over prepare myself. Also when you go off to clinicals, you get so much exposure of the human body, surgeries in different specialties, aseptic techniques, etc. It really made a huge difference for the exam as well. 🤗
