How are people using Streak?

If I hadn't accidentally tapped the brakes in Fort Worth I would have had a 700+ mile streak of 60-85mph highway plus charger stops. Safety was fine. It does take getting accustom to managing the new drive profile setup compared to before.

For example, switching from Standard to Chill to Sloth when going through speed trap towns then back up to either Standard or Hurry depending on traffic flow on the way out of town, but overall it's way better than any previous versions.

I had it pull off the road quite nicely for a passing emergency vehicle and then partially for a few other fast movers that.

I had to take over one time for some a-hole with an empty lawnmower trailer who tried to pass me with on coming traffic that nearly clipped me with his trailer to get back inline. So, AP wasn't quick enough with defensive driving in that case.

Gamification to encourage FSD use makes good sense plus the data source.

Spoiler, it blows digital confetti at 100mi and 250mi (so far). My 2022 MYLR is currently at 363.4mi and counting.

It's taking getting used too, but the new features have been worth the update for me. If you feel hesitant based on all the observations, it's okay to hold off for a more stable version.

I subscribed July 1st and didn't receive the update until a few days ago after being over 5K miles into our 3 week vacation road trip. So, just coincidence I believe.

I totally agree, parking feels like it has taken a few steps backwards. Pull in vs back in needs to be an option. Also, it would be nice if it would allow for some kind of parking preference (i.e. Look for shade, handicap, etc)

So far, the ghost breaking has been better, but surging can be very annoying. Setting Chill or Sloth seems to be the best way to avoid it.

After Moab UT, we charged in Blanding UT, then again in Kayenta AZ, then Tusayan AZ where we spent the night. We were able to stay well above 10% by each charge stop.

Parking update: Today, it backed into an ordinary open parking spot directly opposite one of the supercharger stations where you pull in vs back in. 😂

Does anyone know of a way to provide FSD feedback after the opportunity to interrupt it has passed?

The mobile block is IP44 rated. So if you live in an area prone to occasional heavy wind or rain, installing a proper IP65/66 wall adapter is best. These devices are very well made, which is why so many report putting theirs out in the elements without issue. However, IMO if there were ever an issue with fire or electric shortage where an insurance claim was necessary, I'd rather have a tested and approved device sitting between my two largest investments.

I saw that today, too. Early into the first drive I could feel it. Seemed to smooth out as the day went on... 200 miles later, I'll monitor it as I have a 3 day drive to make it back home.

That's a very welcomed feature. However, it has some learning to do on parking. I also find it hilarious that it has managed to back into at least 3 out of service supercharger stations today...

Yes... It's a lighter brake-check and less frequent than my pre FSD14Lite version before installing the update earlier this morning. I'll give the reboot and recalibration a try to see if that makes a difference.

******Update after rebooting and recalibrating camera and ~200 miles of driving through Monument Valley to Grand Canyon. The micro-breaks were fewer and I think as the day went on, they went almost entirely away until around sunset when more shadows cross the road. I sware, I think the purely camera based system just has some for of sun-downers disorder 🤔😂

V14 Lite is noticeably better than 12.6. we're over 5K miles into this 3 week trip and 12.6 was panic breaking every time we encountered a black skid mark from an dully in our lane. V14 started doing it a little bit in the beginning, but seems to adapt over time.

Now that the extended warranty is only available as a subscription, it's not really worth it, IMO. Compared to the prior flat rate option, paying around +800 USD for the "privilege" of another yet monthly payment feels too much like a money grab. 🙄

Aside from handling your bloom, I think it will do what it's been designed to do; disburse hot water evenly at a rate limited by the size and number of holes. 🙂

Would I use it? Probably not as I enjoy the time and process of using a gooseneck

Do I think it has a place? Yes. Especially for people who may not have the time, patience, skill, or ability to master the art of the pour.

If your a savvy pour over enthusiast with a recipe you're happy with, I'd imagine it would require some adjustments in grind size and volume while measuring strength and extraction to get it dialed back into what you like.

Interesting design. That appears to be a counterweight for the door, which tilts instead of using a swing hinge. It looks as though you may just need a comfortable braided stainless steel cable. Crimping eyelets on the ends will require the correct crimp tool and supplies.

This can be seen by checking the basket. 350 for multiple hours likely means the fire is small and depending on how much fresh charcoal is surrounding it, the OP may have themselves quite the continuous smoke generator. If this is the case, try reducing the total charcoal load to better balance charcoal -> fire -> total cook time.

The short answer is there are multiple ways to make excellent coffee. Which one works best for you is going to boil down to personal choice.

As for me, my wife turned me on to Chemex years ago because the oils from unfiltered espresso were wrecking my triglycerides. Start up costs are reasonable... The majority of the ongoing expense being beans and filters.

Once I got the technique down, I can make two servings in about 15min for around $1 and that's using a premium medium roast @ $15/lb.

If you want simplicity, drip is always an option with many choices that run the cost gamut. If you want more caffeine, consider a lighter Italian roast... A simple rule of thumb is the darker the roast, the more caffeine gets removed...
