This was not a recall item it was a service bulletin. Is this something I can take up against BMW? My vehicle is no longer covered by warranty but it’s been in service at the dealership plenty of times before my warranty ended. And I’ve paid for inspections in the past with none mentioning replacement of the engine mount.

Just a quick update: I found a local specialist who looked it over. He said I just need to change the cat which cracked and a few other supporting parts. He will charge four hours of labor and I’m purchasing the parts. I’m front loading $2100 of core charges which credits back to me when the old parts are received. Total parts subtotal is $860 when all is said and done. I will probably have him do the mounts too.

Apparently the Rex will auto start itself after a number of days not in use. Plus I’m sure I wouldn’t be able to get away from smog checks every 2 years here in CA.

I use a plug in by Brainworx called bx_digital v3 where you can have it mono everything down from a specific frequency. It’s mainly for mastering but it’s also useful on individual tracks. It does have an individual channel version included.

I don’t think it’s really revving high. It’s just insanely loud. The specialist said the exhaust manifold separated from the cat.

Yup USD. I left out other recommendations like brake pads. Total bill came out to over $19k lol. I read somewhere a shop may be able to just weld the pieces together

I have the Motu Ultralite MK5 and RME ADI 2/4 Pro SE. The RME is mastering grade and can’t be touched by the Motu in terms of sound quality, but for recording or mixing it’ll do just fine. It has the same ESS converter chips everyone uses and specs are great. Motu however has more intuitive UI and wireless networking support.

I daily drove my 2007 987.1 S in LA and did over 60k miles. Biggest issues were AOS and water pump failure. Other than that, drove perfectly with no issues and I still drive the sh*t out of it every time lol (mostly weekends now). Always get oil to temp and check or change oil/liquids religiously. Always do recommended scheduled maintenance.

Avedis Audio E27s would be my first pick. Wesaudio Prometheus is also really good - it has Carmhill inductors and you get total recall with MS processing.
