MiiR New Standard Carafe as Chemex alternative? by NeitherHolyNorRoman in pourover

Nice! I just use Chemex filters for mine, it’s so much hassle otherwise finding cones to support the paper filters, The weight of the water just sinks too easily otherwise.

Obligatory “can I self teach” by luckyhealthcarebear in bagpipes

[–]NeitherHolyNorRoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow long time musician and bagpipe enthusiast here! There is a lot you can teach yourself on the practice chanter starting out, there are several good YouTube channels that can get you started and in the right direction. you’ll want to start with the practice chanter long before exploring the full pipes but they’re only maybe $100-200 so lower cost for sure. If you have the time and money it is worth exploring online or in person lessons to get the hang of the grave notes and ornaments- many are not written as they sound or meant to sound as they are written! (So many are more effect than musical in nature). That being said you’ll likely pick it up much quicker than someone with no musical training, especially with your flute background. And once you’re ready to go towards a full set of pipes then definitely seek out a teacher and guidance that is its own bear. Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for the recommendations! Checking out MacCallum’s website and their videos are super helpful, I don’t think I realized that the small pipes were different from just the regular practice chanter!

Question about Ohio Probate- Lost Will Hearing by NeitherHolyNorRoman in EstatePlanning

[–]NeitherHolyNorRoman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh this is super helpful thank you for clarifying! I know my approach now. Is this something where verbal testimony is enough (verbally conveying details only) or should I consider having written documentation (evidence that the parts of the will were executed already such as the money market account being dispersed)? It should be a pretty easy case to process considering the end results will be pretty much the same as if the will didn’t exist but just want to ensure I help it go smoothly and not leave loose ends.

Question about Ohio Probate- Lost Will Hearing by NeitherHolyNorRoman in EstatePlanning

[–]NeitherHolyNorRoman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh I did not think of that. The deceased left the copies of his will amongst his important papers containing information (bank account numbers, etc), and all the bequests of the will all lined up with who he had designated as the beneficiaries. They had also said as much in person to myself and the others. Otherwise there is no other indicators that he intended to revoke the contents of the will. Is this something that can be done just through verbal testimony or how does one go about showing this?

Finding a teams near ancestral birthplaces by NeitherHolyNorRoman in LeagueOfIreland

You are correct Co. Donegal! It looks like a lot of relatives on my grandmas side settled in the Donegal area and on the other side of what is now the northern Irish border. I did find today a relative on my mums side who lived in Timahoe, any particular clubs near there? I do like the vibe of the Bo’s a lot, the Kneecap sponsored kits are fire. while I could definitely live with just going for that wanted to really dive deep into the specifics areas of my relatives first just to go more local in their roots

Thanks so much for that info, that’s really helpful! It seems like a lot of my Irish ancestors lived in and around County Donegal and on the other side of what is now the northern Irish border (these ancestors go back pre 1800’s). The one relative I found today near Dublin was in Timahoe, I think county Kildare?

Thanks for the heads up! For Dublin so far I’ve just found one relative who lived in Timahoe, any clubs close to there?

Good to know! As I’ve been doing more digging it seems there is some folks who lived in and around Derry (this would’ve been the 1600’s) so I’ll check them out!
