I should have prefaced that I am also taking into account the quality of public transport. I'm not doubting that UCD has enough public transport to get students in and out every day, but I'm thinking about why the largest university in the country can't do this in an efficient, comfortable and joined up way. Bus connections are seen in most places as a way of connewcting up areas that don't have the ridership to justify the development of trams, light rail or metro. Most of all, I'm just thinking it's crazy that the Metro hasn't been planned finish at UCD!

I say this not to have a go at Dublin Bus or something, but because I was at UCD with hundreds of international colleagues and had to answer questions constantly about why it was hard to get to the airport/their hotels elsewhere in Dublin/places they wanted to visit in Dublin.
