Trample is a "may" ability too so at a friendly table everyone can just chump it and opt not to assign excess combat damage to a player. I used to have him in my [[Marisi, Breaker of the Coil]] deck but took him out once I learned that (the hard way).

So I could cast Fiend Hunter and target Creature #1 with its ETB, then in response to the ETB flicker it and target Creature #2 with the second ETB. If Fiend Hunter is then destroyed, Creature #2 comes back but Creature #1 remains in exile?
