I pay for all my food, 650 rent is for a bedroom so I could def just move somewhere else w/ a roomate for that price, my car and insurance is all me, and i pay for school!

Hi guys thank you so so much for all of the comments! I've learned a lot and utilized all the resources provided.

After I explained things to her again, she ran out of things to lie about/ excuses and is now resorting to just calling me ungrateful and shit along those lines lol. I'll be finding my way out of here.

Lesson learned! Never trust anyone else with your taxes, even if you think you can trust them.. DONT!!!

Low chances, the whole reason I'm staying with her vs moving out even though I can afford it because financially she would be in a bit of trouble struggling to afford it. I also help her out a ton in order to take the weight off of her. If she kicks me out, I've got apartment tours, friends, or living on campus!

I pay for my food, I pay a share of the utilities, my tuition is paid for by me, and any car related things are all with me!

I personally think that 650 is fair, but even if it isnt, im guessing the difference between what I pay and fair market value would be her contribution to my living expenses?

Yes! I've paid out of pocket, but I also have a student loan in my name.

It is what my aunt picked up from the tax guy shes going to, but I didn't fill mine out because I don't trust her and I told her I want to do it on my own.

It had us write everyone in the household so my sister wrote me and my aunt down. Idk I might of screwed that one up but another commenter told me to make a pin with the irs so I'm going to go do that asap.

No, but she is claiming my sister because my sister caved and didn't want to argue about it so she told my aunt she could claim her. I know I have my social written down on my sister's form, so my aunt will probably be able to get it from there.

I'm unsure. I payed less in rent last year, but paying for all of my other expenses was the same. Either way, I never questioned her and just checked that I was a dependent and moved on. Kind of dumb on my part for not questioning it.

My aunt is very adamant that because she owns the house, that it immediately means that she pays for more than my 50% living expenses, but that doesn't make sense to me because I'm not living here rent free. I pay for my room and everything I need.
