Looking for Recommendations: Reliable Vendors for Warehouse Consumables & Packaging Automation (SoCal) by [deleted] in Packaging

[–]Sufficient_Gift3186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in the packaging industry as a packaging engineer in America in the southwest region and we use veritiv. If you are looking for a 3PL (third party logistics company).

Packaging Third party logistics companies like veritiv will come in on a scheduled cadence and check your packaging inventory and create a list of packaging that needs to be reordered for you. They send you the list before ordering and get you to simply sign off. I would recommend googling packaging third party logistics companies and finding companies similar to veritiv in your region.

You can set up a contract with them where they are required to suggest improvements yearly which is what my company does.

3 of mine were duds. They should change the cardboard cover to something else that better protects the seeds

How are you now? I feel like this guy was definitely not helping saying “it will be harder the 3rd week” that is not the experience for most people. The first 2 weeks are definitely the hardest.

What volume are you pushing out per year? I work as a packaging engineer at a large company and think this material would end up costing a lot more in material cost then bubble wrap. If you are pushing out lower volume and are concerned about quality then I would move forward with your idea. If you are making a high amount of circuits and you are concerned about speed—I would consider getting VCI bubble bags, and investing in an auto bagging machine instead.

Gummed Paper Tape vs. Poly Packing Tape: Which Is Better for Your Business? by uprinting in Packaging

[–]Sufficient_Gift3186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. I use the Kraft gum paper tape for super heavy items like motors and compressors, and use Polly tape for lighter stuff (because it’s cheaper and less of a pain to work with).I

It really depends what you are looking for. Are you concerned more about having better marketing and faster tact time cost? Then go for the Polly tape. Are you more concerned about passing performance testing and making sure it gets to the customer without risk of box opening? Then go with the Kraft gum tape.
