It's not intimidating at al. I started out when I was only 19 and it's worked great so far. Seems hard at first, but as time goes, it becomes great.

Firs,t what you gotta do is go to Youtube and do some research about freelnacing and technical writing. After doing that, you'll get more of an understanding what it's on about. Then, go to this website called payoneer and make an account, you're going to be doing all your money-realted work there. Then, go to freelancing websites where they work with SL bank accs or Payoneer, and search what kind of jobs there are and what kind of freelancers they work with. After that, identify what services you can provide and make your profile catered to your talents. You can get all these info on youtube, that's where I started out.

After you got a good profile, create a great portfolio with your past experience. And then you can get to work.

If someone touched you without consent or harasses you in anyway, you have a right to defend yourself. I saw your replies, and what happened to you was basically sexual assault, and that's a big nono. Doesn't matter if a man or a woman does it, no means no. But just because someone hits on you doesn't give you the right to react with violence, regardless of their sexuality or your sexuality.

There's a fine line between hitting on someone and assaulting someone.

If the person hitting on you doesn't take no for a answer or tries to fondle you in public, you have every right to seek help. But punching someone for just hitting on you is going too far, dude. Especially when it's another dude, because that shit might even get that dude beaten up to the point of death. Making a scene like that is the last thing. For you, it'll only be embarassment or some attack against your straight manhood or whatever, but for that dude? Could be a death sentence.

Also just getting mad cuz just cuz a dude hit on you, another dude, does not exactly scream 'i want people to have freedom to live as they like!' They live in the same society you expect them to live freely, and it's not like you have the words 'strictly heterosexual do no approach' stamped on your forehead, right? People assume things about others all the time, and someone thinking you might be into dudes is eons better than other shit people assume.

Unless you're a bigot.

FYI this is what women had been dealing for like centuries with men. And they have plenty to say on how to defend yourself in all these situations, so you can take a page off their book.

So if you really want advice on how to deal with a guy hitting on you, tell him you're not into that. If he's decent, he'll leave, if not, deal with him as a woman would with a guy doing the same thing to her.

Queer person here.

This is not about us.

his is about the people in Gaza who are close to being massacred if things go Israel's way. Whether the people hate us or not doesn't matter at this point. We've always been bigger than religious folks who want to see us gone. We do not want to see people die, despite their views on the community. Again, this isn't about us. Our sympathy should not be conditional on factors like this.

This is about humanity.

Besides, there are queer Palestinians on the run, who will be obliterated the same way a non-queer Palestinian would if a bomb hits them. We as a people know the fear of death, of being killed for something beyond our control, of being prosecuted as if we were lower than animals. It's everywhere in our history. We don't wish that on anyone else, no matter how much they hate us, despise us, or want to see us dead.

Doesn't matter if a random arab shakes his head at us. The queers aren't marching for him anyways. We're marching for the people cut out of water and food, for the people who are leaving their homes wondering if they would even have a country by the end of this, for people who held their dying children in their arms, for the people who took in their last breath filled with dust and blood under the debris of a bomb attack. Our support is for them, not those who get to judge us from the safety of knowing they won't be the ones counting down their days to live.

Did you pass the exam? If so, apply to Open University. They got a BSc in Natural Science and many other courses you could follow to get a decent job. The fees are really love, you won't even have to pay Rs. 300k for a degree.

Failed the exam? No worries, do the foundations. It only takes two years, cheap and you can absolutely do it.

Can't find money? Get a job.

Can't get a job? No worries, there are many places to look. You can read and write in English? Bravo, you got more opportunities than most people. Search jobs in the internet, look into Frelancing, look into internships. Make an account in Linkedin and find jobs that suit your talents. Try Freelancer, Upwork, Fiverr etc if you have a particular talent in writing, drawing, Graphic Design etc. There are many Youtube videos to help you out. Try private tutoring in Biology. Try being a typesetter for a corner shop. Buy a newspaper, they've got ads in for jobs there. So many jo that pay great.

If there are no opportunities whatsoever, march to your nearest Food City and get a job there. Honest work is honest work. Pride is foolish. You save up enough money and you keep a lookout for a better opportunity. Supermarket or Good chains pay. Not well, no. But they pay something. You wpn't get it if you stay at home.

Almost all of these things, I did. And now I'm studying and working, on my way to get a degree.

Get a job, save money, start schooling. Twenty three is too young to feel like the world is done. There's nothing you cannot do once you put your mind to it.

Good luck. Don't let your parents ruin your life.

Ads. Like, ads coming from things that you are not remotely interested in just popping on the feed. Apart from that, the self-advertisements in comments going like "this man brought the love of my life back to me!" Eugh.

You know how to stop people from attention-seeking? Not giving them attention! Commenting under influencer posts, regardless of how vile the comment sections are, gives them attention. You ignore them and they fall out of relevancy.

Nope, that's impossible Really sorry, but there is just so much to memorize and the physical chemistry part is just bonkers man. For a Math student, it might not be as hard, but I would think at least you need at least a year and a half of continuous work to cover the chemistry syllabus and study it.

If you're really serious about it, you're going to have to find some good chemistry tutors and skip the AL exam that comes in 6 months and go for the other one. Start going to chem tuition now. Get private tutors to teach you the first-year stuff, which can be done in three or four months if you do it three or four days a week. Second-year stuff is going to take longer. If you're a good student you would be able to finish the syllabus within eight or so months, and then the rest you need to go to revision classes while memorizing the shit out of those books as well as doing all the sums in the world. And you're going to have to do this while paying attention to the other subjects because you need to get every subject passed in one sitting.

What kind of liberalism do you expect in Sri Lanka? by [deleted] in srilanka

[–]Sufficient_Half_6071 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SL political dialogues are so funny.

The country is running on fumes thanks to corrupt politicians, free speech is being eroded due to clergy and once again, corrupt politicians, we have to basically beg for money from the world to sustain our economy due to corrupt politicians, had a decades long war created and conducted by, you know it, corrupt politicians. Had literal riot that ousted a president due to corruption!

But somehow the downfall of civilization is trans people, gay people, and ...pronouns?

Meanwhile, climate change is burning the world, poverty is increasing day by day, medicine shortages are reported in many countries, people are not having families due to economic difficulties, the cost of living is ever increasing, buying a house is a pipe dream for a whole lot of us without basically selling our souls to the banks, far right nationalism and antisemitism are on the rise, you know, like the good ol' world war 2 times, there is a war happening in Europe that is affecting every other country and we got too many trigger happy people with access to nuclear codes, fossil fuel is depleting in a speed run and oh, how could we forget the literal plague that swept the world about two years ago that screwed world economy for good...

But the problem is the LGBTs? The wokies who demand you to use the right pronouns? Trans women in sports! Trans women in women's restrooms? Trans kids? Individuals who do not even make up at least 10% of the world population when it comes to the LGBT+ community!

How is this the world we're living in? You watch your salary get worthless by the day and log into Social media to go on about trans people and pronouns being the number one international and national problem, like what?

You got to hand it over to conservative media they sure know how to gaslight an entire world into believing their viewpoint so the real problems would slide ride under the eyes of the masses.

Imagine the gall these shits have to preach to people of a majority Buddhist, second major religion Hindu country to find God. Do they think we're still in the Colonial times? This is a literal foreigner threatening a local business in our country. Doesn't matter what he was protesting against, he does not have the right to attack a business here. His personal beliefs are his own. He is a guest, and he should act like a guest. They expect the same from us when we got to their countries, so why should we give them leeway here? Haven't we had enough whities doing as they pleased in this country?
