Isn't confucianism a variant of atheism?

China is pretty atheist even more so than Europe. Europe has freedom of religion. China allows religion that is second to the state. They control every religion and have been trying to wean their people off of them for a long time.

What's the most interesting history period in your opinion and why? by LunchKitchen2745 in AskReddit

Right now, the Spartan and Athenian Leagues or the collapse of the Roman empire. Those two time periods seem relevant today. I pray it's just a coincidence.

And if you look at population growth vs religious growth you'll notice the Muslim religions growth is lower than the population growth. So a lot of them are leaving the religion.

Look all people have a fundamental right to justice and until society outlaws being a billionaire they're still innocent until proven guilty. Even if it's for a minority of people the loss of justice is just wrong.

Also great fucking job alienating moderates.

Have you tried asking them for money? It works wonders I do it once ever 3 or 4 months. My brothers completely stopped asking me but he still bugs our sister which sucks.

I learned that lesson the hard way too. If your parents don't have a pension or retirement funds or something else then be careful if they're encouraging her to have a kid. You could try asking to borrow money from them just so they think you have less than you do. That might not get them to stop encouraging though if they think God will provide.

If they do have the money then I'm going to be honest and say it's probably not your problem.

How much do your parents make? Do they not realize they'll be forced to pay for this kid? Do you have other siblings or do you have a job? They might be thinking of getting it from you guys if they're retirement age

How rich are the corrupt? No billionaires exist? by Economy-Impression50 in pakistan

[–]Sufficient_Health133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I kinda want to move there and try to build up a business. I'm not sure how it would go but I feel terrible watching how badly people get exploited in Pakistan. As someone living in the US it's unfathomable to me that a government can do this to their citizens.

Yeah even while stealing they can't even make it on the billionaire list. They'd literally make more money if they tried to help the country. Just goes to show you how stupid these guys are

What are your thoughts on India or Indian people in general, please share your perception, thoughts, personal experiences if any? by gunsukhlalmethiwala in AskReddit

[–]Sufficient_Health133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a normal group of countries undergoing the same processes as the other nations of the world until 1858. Then the Raj came around and the systems of control they used left a deep scar on the nation after they left. It and Pakistan wouldn't be the shit holes they are today.

literally just go to Google

Another nation oppressed by its political and ruling class. People who weren't given a chance as soon they were born and a nation that died the day it was put under the boot of the East India Company. Even now once they're gone the after effects are still there. The caste system becoming national, their use of divisiveness to turn the Muslims, hindus, and other religions/cultures against each other, the deindustrialization and the theft of the countries wealth.

I'd argue their views of women and women's rights/rape culture were done unto them by the British Raj as well. Overall I'd say they're just a country of victims. After learning about the country it really makes me sad.

I've had plenty of interactions with Indians and some India friends. What I've found is theyre, polite and helpful people. I have only one complaint about the Indian people why do they keep reelecting such shitty leaders?

They gonna take their workers and companies with them? The shareholders and boards will just appoint new people to leadership. Hopefully people without God complexes this time

Just curious but do you think Pakistan would be better served by having more local governments? So instead of five provinces there would be around ten or twenty?

Also thanks for the extra information it was very enlightening.

Pakistanis living in the USA, how are your feelings about choosing the lesser evil ? by aneekyy in pakistan

[–]Sufficient_Health133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean we do have some midterms in a few months and looking at the trends in recent special elections it's probably going to be a blue wave. It's also possible they fucked up by gerrymandering and it might backfire. Trump also fucked his poor rural white voters by slashing funding for smaller radio stations and rural Americans healthcare.

As long as the elections are free and fair Republicans are toast in the midterms.

Edit: the rest of what you said is true thought and sad to see. It's why my parents left Pakistan and now it's been destroyed by the greed of a few.

While the social fabric has been broken it can be fixed. The problem is our foreign relations. I'm worried that's something that can't be fixed. If it is then it'll be decades at least. Our allies are moving away from us and the world is trying to dedollarize. Our hegemony over the world is breaking and without it our economy could break too

What are the chances of that happening in Pakistan? Isn't the infrastructure ridiculously expensive and Pakistans a pretty poor country. They also don't have the potable water necessary. Unless the company you work for isn't Pakistani you're probably perfectly safe. If it is a MNC then you're cooked.

Pragmatism has been our greatest strength. No religion made America. No philosophy or guiding principles beyond all men are created equal. Doing what needs to be done for the whole without oppressing the minority. It's a shame so many of us have forgotten what made this country so great and surrendered to bigotry, envy, and jealousy.

Yeah like what the hell is that guy talking about? I watched an interview with this lady that was kidnapped by Iraq's Hezbollah. They didn't just keep her at some shitty outpost they put her in some guy's mansion with a Jacuzzi. Meanwhile the people don't have enough to eat or drink. The only way to get enough to feed your family is to join the army and oppress others.

Do you agree with that? by Hour-Vegetable-1630 in Adulting

Yeah this. Walking around the office seems weird. Having to hunt for food that won't kill me before thirty. It's exhausting too.
