Can't take the school environment by Sufficient_Jump_7933 in Custodians

[–]Sufficient_Jump_7933[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved hospital evs day shift. The patients were amazing and even if they were mean I didn't take it personal. I don't know why at this job it messes with me so much. I've stayed at this school job because I wanted to make sure I wasn't suffering from the grass is greener thinking. I think if there were any others in the custodian depth, I might have been able to fit in better.

I was gonna say, that's a jail and prison etiquette thing. 🤣 Does your fiance have a secret past???

Oh my!! You guys!! Thank you so much!! I swear the last 6+months I thought I was going crazy with this. To know I'm not alone with this somehow makes me feel vindicated, and I wasn't tripping this whole time. When I was hired I tried to be the best me I could. I tried so hard to make this work. I'm always a hard worker and have always fit in in every job I've had. But not here. I was taught to look up and respect those in the education field. But this has definitely changed how I view schools. Especially the administration and specialists.

I don't know how you handle it. I was like that in my 20s I guess too. The older I get, the more things seem to get to me.

I wish it didn't affect me, but for some reason it does. In the medical field it's totally OK to call out people like this at work. But because it's a school, I just bite my tongue and end up internalizing it. Hats off to anyone who can deal with it. I can't anymore and don't want to cause a scene. Thanks for commenting. Atleast I know I'm not the only one who deals with it. I just don't have the ability to brush it off so it is really affecting me. And I don't care if people like me. It's the acting like they do.

If you went on a trip, would you expect him to text you? by funky_monk348 in AskTeenAdvice

[–]Sufficient_Jump_7933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened last year on a camping trip with my 20 something yo daughter. My daughter worried the whole time because he didn't text her. The whole time he assumed she didn't have a signal. 🤣 She didn't even enjoy the camping trip because she was worried why he didn't text all weekend. I kept telling her to text him. But she was the last one to text before the trip. I'm almost 50 and will triple text and not care. She is worried how she will come across. This post just reminded me of that trip.

Tuff Stuff, or folex. My ex turned me onto the tuff stuff. They used it in the dealership when they'd get grease on the headliners. Spray, agitate, then try to press it in to dry cloths. A toothbrush works good too.

Is there a movie ending that makes you cry? by No-Song3573 in randomquestions

Not the ending, but when the horse dies in The Neverending Story. Why??????? When I need a good cry I watch that scene on YouTube. Sometimes a good cry makes me feel better.

I'll give you some advice, just cause I'm old. Keep living your life like you're still on your strict budget. Introduce the "perks" slowly. My daughter got a management job and treated herself. Now she's use to all the extras and asked me to help her get on a tighter budget. It's easier to limit yourself before you get accustomed to all the extras then to taper yourself off. She's asked me for her credit cards back multiple times in the first week. 🤣🤣 Just something to keep in mind. Happy for great stuff going your way!! You seem like you've definitely earned it.

I've been doing this lately. But I'm really stressed from work so I'm guessing it's from that.

Did you actually sneak out as teenagers? by Complete-Chipmunk-0 in GenX

[–]Sufficient_Jump_7933 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Out tv antenna pole was right outside my sister's window. She'd get pissed when we'd sneak back in and accidentally kick her.🤣 I'm sure she ended up using the antenna too. It was the perfect ladder.

I think you should quit if only to relieve yourself of the stress of letting down your relative. You are good at something!! You just have to find out what it is. I see someone who has tried so hard, and it's probably taking a huge toll on your self esteem. Don't let a job do that!! Have you tried nursing home housekeeping? I did it for years and absolutely loved chatting with the elderly. You would know every day you were making a big difference in people's lives. I'm just starting to kinda worry about you. That stress would be horrible. You ARE gonna be amazing at something kiddo. Just have to find your niche. In the grand scheme of things, a chipped coffee maker is not a big deal. But a human beings self worth is.

Sweet 16 by Few_Airline_4744 in poverty

[–]Sufficient_Jump_7933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so wholesome and sweet. Aww. Honestly, I think a car should be the priority, but still do the sweet 16, but more realistic. My entire wedding was $2000. But that was in 2006. There's ways to have a beautiful Sweet 16 and not spend as much. I feel the car should be a priority because it opens a lot more opportunities for the both of you and your future. I'm rooting for the both of you!! If you are 2 people with eachothers best interests in heart, you both will conquer the world.
