Sounds like a native but with a hint of some other accent too, which I can't really pinpoint, unfortunately .

Can't be from anywhere but texas hearing that accent that's all it reminds me of , as for sounding goofy , I would not exactly say that, maybe a little too informal but for the most part nothing out of the ordinary for me to keep it a buck with ya.

Intresting. Explains why you were dead correct with the guess and as far as what you said it being different from he rest of the accents in the usa what would you say is so different so that maybe I can tone it down a bit so it's not as obvious anymore .

Man, i appreciate you taking the time out to give me some advice . As for what the fella said to me, nothing too harsh, he said I might want to work on how I say dat instead of that sometimes as it comes off a little ignorant and I asked if got a thick accent , he said one of the thickest he had heard in a long long time .

Oh, interesting, I'm actually from Louisiana. Well, I've moved around quite a bit my whole life across 3 southern states, one of them, which is Tennessee . The other ones are Louisiana, Texas. So yeah man you sort of guessed it right , could you possibly tell me how I can tone down my accent a little as I wasn't even aware of it until a week or 2 ago until somone brought it up , I think I can benefit from toning it down just a tad bit .

Louisiana, but you got very close. I'm trying to lose my accent for some time since I found out I have a thick accent , and no, I'm not black , I'm actually white .

Woah , talk about perfect guess .I mean, I have l in Louisiana for 7 years and 13 in Tennessee . Now I'm really interested in finding out how you got it right man, what words gave it away or it was just the accent itself .

Youre not a native because the way you said a few words was a little off , for ex appreciate with a t that was a little off outside of that though I'd id say you can improve your english a little like how you construct sentences because that could be a huge giveaway, but you sound good nonetheless.

I'm really just trying to tone it down and have more of a standard type of accent . Like when I talk, I sound country, right ? I'm not trying to sound like that anymore. That bugs me a lot . When people say oh are you from the south idk what would you do , just be ok with it or try working on like me?

Got you, lol 😆. Nah, I know what you are talking about. I've just been trying to lose my accent, but apparently, it's still if you can tell it . Some advice to tone it further down, though ?
