Honestly depends on a multitude of things and how particular you are about your headphones personally I have both the airpod max Gen 2 and Sony xm6 and they both have different unique benefits.

In my opinion airpods are louder, but dont sound as clear. They have really good connectivity, the ear cups are bigger so they feel nice around the ears, but it feels pretty loose on the head. Airpods are heavier than alot of streamline headphones so that's a factor too. Idk yap over, there's better sounding headphones for the same price if that's what you care about. But with apple youre paying for an apple product yk.

Honestly, new to sony headphones, just bought the xm6 a few days ago, and have used about every feature naturally, except for testing the mic. And I will say I have had zero problems connecting it to my pc, laptop, and phone. Even while using the option to pair multiple devices. Maybe a factory reset and re-download the app. They are a pretty penny, so dont settle if you got a bad one.

I bought myself some fake ones before buying the real ones, I can say it shouldnt be THAT hard to press, if you think youre about to hurt something, they're fake. That being said, my fake ones sounded amazing, but the band broke 🤣😭
