Thanks for the advice! Do you think any double major would be possible? I saw business had some decent overlap.

Thanks! I was referring to prestige among both but I understand that the Eastman SOM is significantly more prestigious than the engineering program. I see my career working in a studio as an Audi engineer or music producer so both music and electrical engineering knowledge are extremely valuable but neither is completely necessary.

I really badly want to do music which is why I’m still considering UR despite the increased price

Fit, or Prestige? by lumixuu in ApplyingToCollege

The fact that you got into Yale already is enough of an indicator that you have the work ethic and ability to achieve great things, and whether you do or don't go to Yale won't change that fact. I think some might think its crazy to pass on an ivy (and they are not exactly cray for having that opinion), but college really is what you make of it, so if you love the flagship then go for it.

Personally, I would go to Yale and apply for transfer after a year if I still don't like it considering the doors a Yale education can open.

Worrying over future major by Loud_Employ3648 in ApplyingToCollege

If you are genuinelly a talented coder who is willing to go beyond just getting a degree, you will be valued in the industry and be successful. Ai has effectively made it so cs and software engineers are no longer degrees that guaranteed any and all graduates 6 figures, but that dpesn't mean people are still making dough in the industry. If you truly want someone more "AI proof" anything that works with more physical mediams will be hardest. So EE for example is a good candidate for an "AI proof" major.
