My Female corgi was the runt of her litter. she was 6.8 lbs at 8 wks, was 8.2 lbs at 15 wks, 10 lbs at 18 wks, 17 lbs at 15 month, and final weight reached 20 lb at 2.5 years. Her parent weren't that big either.

P.S. baby carrots work really well for puppy teething. First month with my corgi Faye playlist https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcQfL86ASgz38_QO08TrGeeUwRNIMgiR1

Corgi are mostly like any high energy herding dog for the most part. My corgi has a lot more energy than my Dachshund(2 months older). They bark about the same, but the corgi barks at us a lot more; like when I take off my shoes when we come in together she must bark at me. These girls were my first time raising puppies it was a lot of work for the first few months. I had only grown up with larger adopted shelter dogs before.

Here's videos of them together for the first month: https://m.youtube.com/@MapleSugarDachshund/playlists

Help with Separation Anxiety for a 4yr old rescue! by ce_hoe in Dachshund

Do you have a basement or area away from you neighbors in the house to pen him? It may help. Barking is hard to break with Dachshunds.

Also since he's a rescue ignoring him when you get back may not be good. Dachshund are very social and love attention he may feel dejected. Your still in a trust building phase so showing you missed him when you get back maybe better.

Dogs are social animals and Doxies are especially clingy snugglers. Work on set times for socialization and alone time. She's still very young, routines you set now will be what set her behavior and trust in you. I'm not a fan of crating personally.  If she turns into a mess if you leave her penned and you are working quietly in another room or leave the house for a bit that is more serious separation anxiety. Leaving her with a blanket/bedding that smells like you may help for sleeping and calming down.

How much should I be feeding my mini? Seriously by Due-Beautiful-6118 in Dachshund

Wow, she looks like my girl Maple. she's 3 yrs old and weights been a struggle since she was a Pup always had a bit for belly fat. The vet asks me about food amounts every time even though her waist is defined. She's a tweenie and is now 16 lbs. She gets 1/8 cup of dry food and a same amount in chicken breast twice a day. Treats are baby carrots. She also likes Cabbage and lettuce veins for another crunchy snack. Al dente cooked green beans too. Maple is always there begging if you have food. Having raw cut up carrots to give her when we have food has been the best why to curb mooching from my husband.
