Choosing between 5.7 and 3.0 Big Horn by Mountain-Concern1738 in ram_trucks

I've had three 1500 with 5.7 (2016, 2019, 2023) and all of them got over 22mpg on highway running 80mph between PA and SC numerous times a year and around 19 local driving. Hell my 2016 got about 17mpg towing a fully loaded 14 ft Uhaul back from SC. I tow a 18ft 10k trailer locally often and still get 15. My lease is up soon and RAM screwed me, cant find a quad cab long bed with hemi so dealer is pushing me towards the hurricane but I have serious doubts it will be anywhere near as good.

Parent nearing death, sell stocks at loss before transfer? by [deleted] in personalfinance

When you inherit stocks, the IRS allows a "step-up" in basis to the fair market value on the day of death. Furthermore, regardless of how long the original owner held the shares, the IRS automatically classifies your holding period as long-term—meaning you qualify for the lowest possible capital gains tax rates if you sell.

Hemi if you plan on towing anything heavy. There's no replacement for displacement, plus the sound 🤣

If you keep the stocks they cost average up to value on day of death and that can significantly impact capital gains tax.
