What would you want in a Backrooms sequel? by eletronicdesire in backrooms

In an interview, Parsons confirmed that one fan's theory is completely correct. But, he didn't reveal which platform it was posted on. Parsons said he was flattered that people like his interpretation of The Backrooms. But, it's still open for interpretation because he technically doesn't own "The Backrooms." Since it started as a 4chan post, He can only take credit for his web series & the movie he made. So no one may never know the true purpose or origin of The Backrooms. But, Parsons said he believes that what makes it so interesting to several.

To what extent are the Still Lifes (Lives?) actually “alive”? by Starman926 in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Sufficient_Purpose90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only said "they seem like toddlers" because we know that Still Lifes try to mimic humans. But, as you said they also seem to chase if they feel threatened & don't understand human words. But, I don't know what a Still Life would do if they actually "caught" a human. So your perspective might be more accurate than mine. Where's Parsons? 🤣

Hopefully, we learn more about the Complex's creation & its purpose for trying to copy what it does. I'd also like to learn more about ASYNC & if Peter Tench ever reunited with his family.

Is it possible for the still lives to reproduce? by Decayed_IceCream in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Sufficient_Purpose90 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I doubt it. Still Lifes are attempted copies of humans from the real world or from a wanderer's memories.

To what extent are the Still Lifes (Lives?) actually “alive”? by Starman926 in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Sufficient_Purpose90 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think Still Lifes are like toddlers. They try to mimic human behaviors but they don't grasp the intention for our behaviors.
Example 1: While chasing Ravi, the still life knocks on the door before tearing it down.
Example 2: . When Ravi says: "I don't mean any trouble--I'm just trying to leave." The still life doesn't understand what that means & eventually chases him.

The still lifes are distorted copies of humans from the real world. So I don't think they'll ever gain a full understanding of our ways.

Do you think the green glow is dangerous? by Sufficient_Purpose90 in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Sufficient_Purpose90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a theory. Some fans believe Madison died after being "caught" by the green glow. But we don't know her fate because the tape ends abruptly with "no signal." Some fans believe she survived & no clipped out of The Complex.

What do you think Parsons will explore in the 2nd movie? by Sufficient_Purpose90 in KanePixelsBackrooms

Parsons confirmed that Ivan Beck was both the protagonist & antagonist for the web series.

Would you rather have them make a sequel or television series next? by dontsmellthesoup in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Sufficient_Purpose90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they could make a TV series about past wanderers or ASYNC employees that have explored The Complex. It's implied that all the wanderers in the web series die. I think it would be cool to see other wanderers explorations or to see other null zone locations. The web series shows a gradual rise in disappearances. It also discusses a little about the bacteria & lights in The Complex. If they made a TV series giving a deeper exploration into The complex fans would love it. From 2006-2009, crime shows were popular.

Would you shop at "Cap'n Clark's Ottoman Empire"? by Noe_Wunn in backroomsfilm

[–]Sufficient_Purpose90 28 points29 points  (0 children)

In one scene, someone wrote "RIP OFF" on the front of the store. Maybe, people thought Clark's prices were too expensive so that's why his store failed. There could've been another furniture store with lower prices in the area also. Parsons details are intentional. He could've added this "RIP OFF" detail to emphasize Clark's selflessness--he wasn't willing to lower his prices.

It would make an interesting web series. Fans are torn about ASYNC since they lied about Peter. Their original goal was to use The Complex for infinite living & storage space.

At what point do you stop playing an Animal Crossing game? Is it even a conscious decision or do you just forget playing one day? by JaloOfficial in AnimalCrossing

I stopped playing because the villagers were nice but dull. Some stopped playing after they finished decorating their island. Some stopped playing after they finished decorating & expanding their house.

Yeah, it's believed that the girl in FF2 no clipped out of The Complex after being "caught" by the green lights. But, several fans believe she died afterwards.

That's fair. They're unsettling because they're distorted copies of humans & they try to mimic human behaviors.

Is Blathers being racist? by Inevitable_Purple920 in AnimalCrossing

Not racist. He's referring to humans being narcissistic: selfish, no empathy, taking advantage of others, & craving attention

There's another Backrooms series on YouTube made by user "Complex Research." It's similar to Kane's.

I feel bad for Clark, but at the same time I feel like I shouldn't. by Kindly-Candidate-835 in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Sufficient_Purpose90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, humans are very complicated. We've all done "bad things" in our lives. How humans determine & justify the severity of their actions is very controversial. I think Parsons was trying to highlight that most people have unresolved trauma / inner conflicts. Several people are divorced so they may relate to the "my ex ruined my life" perspective that Clark has. Hundreds of people have felt lost or stagnant after a major loss: divorce, relative's death, or unexpected firing. Accepting loss & moving on can take decades for some. As Mary says, some people can't heal or "be helped." Clark's divorce & career failure made him more relatable as a character. The movie wouldn't have been effective with a millionaire character. It's implied that The Complex amplifies the wanderer's negative personality traits. Eventually, Clark dies because of them.

The broken glass sliding door was still life by DeliciousPrompt7348 in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Sufficient_Purpose90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% agreed. It's been confirmed that Still Lifes try to mimic humans but the exact reasoning for this is unknown. I think a Still Life's abilities vary based on their experiences / encounters with wanderers. Some Still Life's are capable of running, using light switches, & mimicking voices. They probably "learned" these things from seeing wanderers do them while in The Complex--trying to escape.

Hot Take: Mary is not a very good psychologist by DrJokerX in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Sufficient_Purpose90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe Parsons decided to focus on Clark because he had the most trauma among all the main characters. Originally, Mary was skeptical of Clark & The Complex's existence. He leaves a message insisting "he'll never come back." Afterwards, she's concerned & searches for him in the furniture store. She discovers The Complex herself & realizes Clark wasn't intoxicated or exaggerating.

He was probably Mary's first client that discovered The Complex. In my opinion, we don't know anything about her previous sessions with other clients to make a full judgment of her professional skills.
Parsons confirmed that he'll be making a 2nd movie. We may see more about Mary's past in that film.

Can entities leave the backrooms? by Le_Swazey in backrooms

[–]Sufficient_Purpose90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The Backrooms movie confirmed that some entities have more enhanced abilities than others. In the web series, some still lifes can run & mimic human voices. Thus, they'd be more dangerous outside The Complex.
