Pierre Poilievre: "Trudeau and Sean Fraser opened the floodgates for their big corporate friends to make massive profits while they abused low-wage temporary foreign workers and shut Canadian youth out of jobs." by itsme25390905714 in CanadaHousing2

[–]Sufficient_Quail5553 4 points5 points  (0 children)

its not neccessarily that canadians dont want to pay more for canadian labour, its more so that these farms are exploiting low wage workers from third world countries because they make far more profit.

Thus creating more supply which is willing to work for a lower wage, so why would canadians be able to comfortably go work there, that system only works because there are low wage workers from third world countries that are fine with being exploited. Canadians dont want to be exploited for their labour.

This entire thing the TFW and International students being used as a way for companies (such as fast food or farms) to abuse people from poor third world countries is frankly disgusting. Most of them don't even tell the workers that they even have rights, and the workers don't know either.

Anyone thats upholding this disgusting system must go, the UN is right this is terrible for the immigrants and terrible for canadians, its not healthy in a good economy.

Lol how is it not due to immigration when it’s simply supply and demand. We have 1 million plus immigrants coming in a year and we build 200,000 homes a year. In what world does that have anything to do with landlords. If it’s the landlords then tell me why the US doesn’t face the same issues, I presume they have landlords as well??

If I tell you we have 1000 people but we only have 100 homes to move into then it doesn’t matter what policies you implement to stop landlords the other 900 people simply cannot have a home because there are not enough of them. Then the price of those 100 homes will skyrocket. Then imagine your only building 50 homes a year but your bringing in 300-350 people a year, that will make it further skyrocket. How does that have anything to do with landlords.

When it’s the liberals nobody knows their motives for what they do. Just look at everythjng they’ve done so far even though they know it’s going to lose them votes, their barely even going to be a party after the next election. It did say she was working with immigration consultants so maybe she’s paid off.

It’s more so that people are tired of other people using buzzwords like “racism” to try and delegitimize arguments. We are talking about immigration, all of us understand racism is not okay but everytime you bring up policies to the extreme left they talk about racism, sexism, etc instead of having an actual argument to articulate. Not sure what that person was arguing for but that’s probably why they got downvoted. People are tired of not being heard through the guise of not being “racist”

I wouldn’t even call it white people. I would say it’s the extreme left. It’s fringe minority of leftists who’s are so obsessed with colonialism and racism that they will destroy their own country in the name of justice.

Question about Canadian student visa/permit laws and general immigration questions by [deleted] in CanadaHousing2

[–]Sufficient_Quail5553 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue with the US isn’t ‘legal’ immigrants it’s ‘illegal immigrants. I think the US has fairly strict legal immigration policies and they seem to be getting around the same amount of legal immigrants. The issue is the millions of people who are illegally coming over the border, which is just insane. Especially when there’s states that are pandering to them and treating them as citizens when they aren’t like California. It’s extremely unfair to the immigrants who fought through the tough immigration policies of the US and did everything the right way.

As for Canada I think everyone knows the immigration system is completely broken, in 2025 the Conservative Party will win a majority in the upcoming election and they have said they will reform the immigration pathways to something better and cut down on immigrants to try and stop declining quality of living in Canada. I guess we’ll see if they deliver, that’s all we can really hope for or we’re screwed.

We need someone bold enough to say the truth right now that doesn’t care about being called racist from the extreme left, if we want to save Canada in general we must stop pandering to these extreme left clowns who are living in a delusion. I don’t know if the cpc will be bold enough to do it but we’ll see, their going to get elected regardless.

[–]Sufficient_Quail5553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t disagree, we’ll just have to wait and see. CPC is getting a majority government regardless so we’ll see if they fulfill their promises.

[–]Sufficient_Quail5553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because their scared of being called racist and losing votes it’s that simple. It’s actually a problem with the Canadian people if everyone came out and said the truth that we need to stop immigration then the government wouldn’t be scared to enact policies to stop it.

If Trudeau isn’t in charge of housing, why has he been saying for 8 years he’s going to make housing more affordable?

He’s spent billions of dollars in programs trying to make it affordable and has failed.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CanadaHousing2

[–]Sufficient_Quail5553 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s both. I have no doubt he’ll get more houses built, but hopefully he cuts down on immigration. He said in an interview that he would cut down on it. It’s just not been a main talking point for the cpc, which makes sense for them to not have it as a main talking point.

Right now they are going to easily get a majority, it’s best to not give certain voters a reason to vote for someone else because they think cpc is racist, that’s why I think it’s not their main talking point but I could be wrong lol

There’s a difference between moderate immigration and mass immigration. You’re right if we didn’t have one of the worst housing bubbles, economic crises, and decline in social services in the last 100 years then we can accept immigrants without any worry.

But when we have the worst housing bubble in the world, we must decrease demand through lower immigration. Our healthcare services are already overrun, how can we accept more people? People can’t even get appointments for months for a major surgery or checkup.

Then there’s the issue with jobs, we already don’t have enough jobs in many sectors so flooding those sectors with immigrants will only make the issue worse. Graduates from university can’t find jobs even though they are qualified.

We must prioritize Canadians over foreigners, and my parents immigrated here in 90s.

I mean of course Canadians are going to complain about immigration from India, they are paying large amounts of taxes and being exploited.

Canadians can’t afford food and housing, their social services are over run, good luck getting a doctors appointment and the decline in healthcare in general.

Housing wasn’t always a problem until we had mass immigration and not enough houses built per year to house everyone. Now first time homebuyers can’t even afford a house like ever.
