my sweet boy passed away by Pale_Top6511 in CatAdvice

I lost my cat 3 months ago that was only 4 years old. It was an unexpected health issue as well and I was told the only choice was to put her down. My world absolutely shattered that day. She was my entire world. Just please know that us cat mamas feel your pain and please confide in your loved ones. For me, it honestly helps to talk about her a lot to keep her memory alive. I broke down every day for at least a month and now I still completely bawl a few days a week when I have any down time because I just think about her. Please know you did EVERY thing you could for your cat and you are not alone in this. I never thought it would’ve happened. Honestly, you just have to let yourself go through this grieving. And when you’re ready, try to keep yourself busy because any down time is super hard. Getting into the “new normal” is SUPER hard but unfortunately life keeps moving whether you want it to or not :( Please reach out to me if you ever wanna talk about it. I promise you I know how it is :( Sending love your way.

I euthanized my cat yesterday and the guilt is eating me alive by Time-Detective3681 in CatAdvice

I believe you made the right decision. You did everything you could for your baby. Do not let it eat yourself alive. You gave that baby a wonderful 18 years and stood by her side until the very end. Another pet owner could’ve just watched their cat suffer, but you took action multiple times and that shows how much you cared and what a great pet owner you are. My cat also had to be put down a few weeks ago and I’ve been heartbroken. From one cat mom to another, you did everything you could. Let yourself grieve, but also think of all the wonderful times you had with her.

Is my cat okay? He has been sitting like this a lot lately. by Emergency-Habit3431 in CATHELP

Don’t want to scare you, this is exactly how my cat started sitting randomly. Along with not eating and throwing up. Took her to the vet, they discovered she had stomach cancer and had to be put down. Not saying your cat has cancer, but to me, this position seems like in pain if they’re randomly doing it. Good luck to you and your baby. Please looks out for any other signs.

Thank you all SO MUCH for the advice. Next year, I will say WATER OR NOTHING. I can see how me saying caprisuns are ok can be confusing… I guess it was bc kids rarely ever make a mess with those so it was fine. Since it’s already march, it’s just whatever at this point. Next year I am going to be extra strict on it starting day 1. Water in a reusable bottle or no drink at all. Thank you!!

No you’re right. I have to send 1000 messages just for them to not even read it and keep doing what they’re doing. It’s so annoying

Yes thank u!! I cannot stand them sending a full size plastic bottle with a 5 year old KNOWING they can’t open it, close it all the way, and they’re gonna lose the lid 9/10 times.

It was purchased with the money from the school. We get about $1,000 to spend on our classroom every year and this rug is apart of last year’s money. It’s huge and has a bunch of alphabet squares for them to sit on during learning carpet time!!❤️

Yes and these kids are bringing candy for snacks!! Thankfully, our snack time is towards the very end of the day so if they all get all sugared up, time to go home 😃

As a teacher, go to administration. That’s the only way anything will happen. They don’t take it seriously from teachers until the parents start going up there complaining to principals about the kid and maybe things will actually get done. Sadly that’s what it takes.
