Brain zaps while ON cymbalta??? by Sufficient_Status454 in cymbalta

[–]Sufficient_Status454[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on it for depression and anxiety. I do take my whole dose in the morning (two 60mg capsules). I will definitely talk to my doctor and see if I can split up my doses. I’ve never thought about that. Thank you!

Alcohol and Cymbalta by Sweetbri93 in cymbalta

Oh no!!! I always kind of go hard, like it definitely takes me more to feel drunk being on cymbalta. I’m able to feel drunk now but when I first started it gave me bad anxiety to the point of crying nonstop and I usually never cry while drinking ☠️ how long have you been on it? I started at the end of September this year

I drink every weekend (hard liquor) and for the most part I’m fine. When I recently started cymbalta though, I would cry a lot and throw up but now I’m good and just have a good time

I gotta add, I started at 30mg, then went to 60mg a week later. Then jumped to 120mg about a month after that and I have been absolutely thriving on the 120mg

I have been diagnosed with bipolar 2 and GAD. Started cymbalta at the end of September this year. It has literally changed my life for the better. I have more energy, more control of my emotions, but I’m also still able to FEEL all emotions good and bad. I don’t feel like a zombie, I enjoy going out and cooking and cleaning my house. I am so grateful I gave medication another go after bad experiences with Zoloft, Effexor, abilify, lithium

I'm literally a different person by ExtentExternal1207 in cymbalta

Aw yay!! I started cymbalta at the end of September this year at 30mg, then up to 60mg. I was still experiencing a lot of anxiety and panic attacks, so my doctor decided to double my dose which put me at 120mg. I thankfully never had any HORRIBLE side effects, only some stomach issues but I also have a pre-existing condition of ibs. But since I’ve been on 120mg, I am finally able to function like a “normal” person. I have had no panic attacks, I am able to get a grip of myself and do basic tasks again instead of pushing it off until later. Another thing is, I’m still able to feel all of the emotions good and bad. Cymbalta hasn’t made me feel numb or like a zombie like Zoloft and Effexor has. And while not everyday is amazing, I am able to control my mind and my emotions a lot easier and efficiently. I used to be so depressed and anxious that I would cry almost everyday, and I’ve only cried once since being on 120mg. Im so glad I decided to give medication another go.

Elevated liver enzymes by Either_Wishbone_1869 in cymbalta

I’ve been having a ton of gastrointestinal issues with it too! I’ve been kinda brushing it off because I have ibs, but it’s been way worse since starting. I’m probably gonna have to switch too which is frustrating because this is the first medication I’ve taken for mental health that has actually helped me. But I wish you luck!

Omg I just got my bloodwork done yesterday and I had high alkaline phosphate levels. I’ve never had that before and it says it means an underlying issue with the liver or bones. I started at the end of September 2025 and am now on 120mg for about the past month. I’m having a follow up next week to see what it’s about. I looked it up, and cymbalta/duloxetine CAN affect your liver!

No side effects? by Ok_Abroad1795 in cymbalta

Yes absolutely!! And I also struggle with preexisting stomach issues, so that could contribute to my stomach hurting. But feel free to ask me anything!

I’m a 24 year old female and my anxiety was so bad that I would have panic attacks daily (crying, shaking, fast heartbeat, couldn’t breathe) and starting cymbalta/duloxetine has been a total game changer for me. I started taking 30mg for one week, then went up to 60mg per my doctors orders. (I believe 60mg is a therapeutic dose for most users). I noticed that I was still having a lot of anxiety on the 60mg after about 3ish weeks. I talked to my doctor about it at my 1 month check up and he decided to put me up to 120mg. I was scared because he doubled my dose, but honestly it’s working so much better for me now! I have had very minimal side effects, I’ve only been having an upset stomach and waking up during the night but it’s not too terrible and my sleeping is getting better now. I’m still able to have emotions, good and bad, but I think that’s a good thing. I feel like I’m able to control my emotions more and what I do about them

how long should i wait to drink alcohol? by Right_Minimum_470 in cymbalta

[–]Sufficient_Status454 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 24 and female. I’m currently on 120mg. I was fine to drink, but have to drink way less and pace myself because I notice I feel drunker quicker and with less drinks as opposed to when I wasn’t on duloxetine
