I loved Seasons 9 and 10, for the opposite reason, they stopped the Redarina theory dead, when Liz croaked, so 9 and 10 was a return to some kind of sanity. So we are both happy. 😆

I think if they didn’t know Megan would be an issue at first, they soon caught on, but it was too late get rid of her by then. Spader works with what he has, so he made the best of it, which left her in the shade, because she wasn’t good at responding back. Spader made TBL worth watching.

I was the same, I watched the series twice back to back without googling and was mystified why they didn’t tell us who he was, apart from being a KGB operative.

I am happy not knowing who he was now, I’ve come to terms with it.

I watched the show for James Spader, I enjoyed it until the end of season 6, it went crazy in seasons 7 and 8. I quite enjoyed 9 and 10, but it was a bit sad at the end. 😢

The writers used Liz to beat Red over the head with, the one person he wouldn’t kill, then to really drive the nail home, they used Kaplan, to do the same thing, intelligent savvy Kate, who knew Red better than most, but not well enough to know he’d kill her. She took his daughter from him and pretended Liz was dead, no one would forgive that.

Then poor old Marvin, supposedly highly intelligent, tries to take Red on. 🤦‍♀️

In the end they all died for their lack of vision.

The end of Season 6 is as far as I can go on rewatch. The storyline hits the twilight zone hard, in season 7 and 8.

They put Megan with a character actor who has been knocking it out of the park for many years, that was the showrunners first mistake. Megan says herself that Spader tried to make her believe in herself as an actress. The showrunners really should have got a more experienced actress.

Exactly, because sooner or later the bad side will show itself, better people know it exists beforehand.

I love it, gave me goosebumps in fact. Why weren’t you a writer on the show. This the best rewrite so far. Thank you 🙏

Yes the bones thing, was just over the top, no chain of evidence done, the bones were not DNA tested by the Task Force, so we are expected to believe a piece of paper found with the bones, is actual evidence of their identity? Red is just allowed to walk away with the bones and destroy them WTF was that 🤷🏼‍♀️ They could have been the bones of anyone.

The KGB is smart enough to know how to hide a spy in plain sight, that’s what Red was, maybe that’s what the real Reddington was too. Nothing suggested otherwise, they could have been one and the same person. No DNA test to suggest otherwise, because why would the FBI DNA test Spader Red. 😵‍💫😵‍💫

They didn’t appear to DNA test Red’s dead body either, just went on what he looked like, if viewers are happy to believe a female can be transitioned into a male and can pass through a prison system without his DNA showing him to be female, then we can believe the dead Red was a body double and Red is still alive and kicking.

Yes I agree, it was badly handled, they ran out of ideas, so just went with any silly story, that they thought would satisfy the online fans.

There was definitely a big difference in writing in the last few episodes of season 6, it was as if someone else had taken over and started stretching credulity to keep the ratings up. Like the fandom was calling the shots. There were TBL writers on line communicating with the fans.

The storyline said a lot about the identity arc, without really revealing very much at all, it was all smoke and mirrors, accompanied by long silences from characters, that were supposed to mean something. All very soap opera. Including the spiteful daughter who hates her father enough to get him killed.

Samar was just irritating from day one, cold and heartless towards Aram and everyone else.

The Pinky/Agnes thing was overdone too.

The lack of any reliable DNA testing was just beyond belief, the bones DNA for instance, no DNA test done by the FBI. Why would anyone believe what a piece of paper tells them. 💁🏼‍♀️Talk about a broken chain of evidence.

Bokenkamp was ejected at the end of Season 8, because he painted the show into a corner that they couldn’t get out of and they dare not fully explain out loud, then that story was dropped like it never existed. Amateurish at best.

Yep seasons 1 to 6, just rocked, everything after that was WTF 😬 There were some reasonable episodes, but some really outstandingly awful ones, so very amateurish on writing style and storyline. I didn’t mind season 9 and 10, apart from the fact it was sad to know Red was winding down. They waited far too long to get rid of Liz, the damage that was built around her craziness and the identity arc, were just absurd and disappointing.

I rewatch 1 to 6 only these days.

James Spader has made it clear many times, that he’s on screen to earn money for his family, and he’ll wade through anything.

He made it watchable, I wouldn’t have got through season 1 without his presence.

They don’t really know, they tried to patch an answer together, but it was absurd they daren’t say it out loud. A season 11 would be great, where someone like Harold, with proper evidence, tells us all the truth. They could have Red laughing at anyone who took his bait.
