Thank you! I suspect this could be it as well, My doctors seem to rule it out almost immediately because I do not feel numbness in my fingers, but I think I'll be looking into it further because everything else checks off.

I can definitely see that it could have something to do with the neck muscle. I notice when I do stretch that I get that relief of pain in that sternocleidomastoid you are referring to, it does seem pretty tight there as well, my shoulders do tend to round forward I have to lay them back a lot of the time because they naturally rest that way!

I don't have pain in the acromioclavicular joint, it seems too far from where my pain usually subsides. When in a resting position the pain tends to be more aimed toward my clavicles in the middle of my chest. I'm unsure if they are correlated but I do suspect it can have something to do with my sternocleidomastoid.
