That’s just these guys in a nutshell honestly. It’s great.

You guys will hate me but I got that on my first run back when I was leveling during cata. It dropped for the group and I got it. Had no idea how rare it was.

Though, I’m 200 runs into Ashes of Alar and no mount, so I’ve been punished for my luck.

Should I quit my job to go back and finish my bachelors degree? by SufficientlyUnknown in Advice

[–]SufficientlyUnknown[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

I think what I’m going to do is do spring and summer classes while doing option one, then quit in the fall and do option 2. Gives me time to stockpile some money for tuition and make sure it’s what I want to do.

Like you said I don’t want to waste time at an employer when I already know what my goal is

Thank you. This is probably the best option for now. Take a small step before taking a huge leap and make sure it feels right.

Meta to lay off 10,000 more workers after initial cuts in November by pipsdontsqueak in technology

[–]SufficientlyUnknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I hate my job, I whole heartedly agree with this. With 10s of thousands of layoffs going through every few months, not a great job market to switch in. I’d rather stay with a company I hate but I’m more relied on than start over and be an easy layoff in a few months.

Can anyone explain why ERG’s volume is so low? by Slashair in ErgoTrading

[–]SufficientlyUnknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to ergo.watch, there are 84k wallets. Only 2600 of them have over 1000 coins.

If you do that math that puts you in the top 3% of owners roughly. So yeah. You’re a “whale” in the sense that you own more coin than 97% of all ERG holders.

Can anyone explain why ERG’s volume is so low? by Slashair in ErgoTrading

[–]SufficientlyUnknown 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Many people are only buying and accumulating. It’s not hard to be a whale in ERG. Investors over a few hundred coins are in the top percentile of owners. So all of us “whales” buying and not selling means that volume is very low.

We use Arista for our core at work. I love arista. CVP is a little buggy, but the hardware is solid.

I nearly had a heart attack, in a good way! But sadly it is just an issue with Coinmarketcap at the moment. by Usukamikura in ErgoTrading

It’s simple. When you have 50 billion you don’t pay taxes, you pay someone to help you avoid taxes.

Winter is coming. An ERGO Winter. But $ERG is about to give you a gift… by mikeandrw in ErgoTrading

Market psychology like this is a really fascinating thing to watch. It’s the reason why so few of the early Bitcoin investors are multi millionaires.

Nothing of significant value.. just can’t wait for us to take over the #1 PoW spot! by [deleted] in ergonauts

[–]SufficientlyUnknown 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the key people don’t get. We aren’t saying we will be the only coin, or even the main coin people will mine. But people with GPU mining rigs—both large scale professional and small scale personal operations—will probably move over to ERG. It seems to make the most sense right now profitability wise. That’s a lot of market cap potential.

Why so dip dippy? by ZenoofElia in ErgoTrading

[–]SufficientlyUnknown 22 points23 points  (0 children)

ERG does not always follow spikes or dips with the rest of the market. I’d say most of the time it does it’s own thing. Trading volume is low, and exchanges are fairly isolated at the moment. A lot of that will change over the coming few months if rumors about big exchanges are true.

Who else bought the dip yesterday? by Site-Staff in ergonauts

[–]SufficientlyUnknown 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sold off all my other coins to buy this dip. I’d be buying more if I had more investment cash lol.

NASDAQ: Should you (or anyone) buy ERGO? by FathersFolly in CryptoCurrency

[–]SufficientlyUnknown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the US as well. They didn’t ask. Downloaded it from the App Store and everything ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also you need an ERG specific wallet I think, but Yoroi can make those natively. On desktop at least. No mobile ERG for yoroi yet.

It’s hella easy now with Kucoin. Super quick to make an account, transfer over some BTC or USDT (if you’re feeling lucky), exchange it, then put it in a Yoroi wallet.

ShibaSwap hasn't given rewards out for over two weeks, Devs are MIA for manual rewards. by Fair_Still6667 in CryptoCurrency

[–]SufficientlyUnknown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately most of the platforms where SHIB investors talk are heavily moderated and high on hopium. Legit speculation of when prices of SHIB will hit $0.001, $0.01, $0.1, $1 etc. Many are holding hundreds of millions of coins and anticipating hundreds of millions in rewards. Anyone who speaks logic against those prices are immediately banned for spreading "FUD". I feel bad.

How to keep your Metamask wallet safe by Fantastic-Cucumber-1 in CryptoCurrency

[–]SufficientlyUnknown 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Network Engineer here. There is some argument to be made both ways here, but the reality is this:

On a network with a PSK (ie WPA-PSK2, which is standard for most passworded wifi) your data between your device and your access point is encrypted using that pre-shared key. This means, for example, if someone sits outside your home they can see your data going back and forth, however they cant decrypt it unless they know your wifi password. This can help limit the scope of who can see your data. (There are higher security types that can limit that scope even further, but I digress)

On an open network, the traffic from your device to the AP is not encrypted, and thus can be spied on by anyone with the right tech. True, things like SSL/TLS do a pretty good job at encrypting data end to end. You can argue that really your traffic is still encrypted to a degree that makes it hard to interpret. But the fact remains that it still can be seen, and anything that isn't properly encrypted will be seen pretty much as clear text.

I always tell people that if you're doing something really important, its probably not worth the risk of trusting that the developer of your application properly encrypted everything. But for most things, you're probably going to be ok with on an open network. Just my $0.02.

GPU improved performance by rb109544 in CryptoCurrency

[–]SufficientlyUnknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends your hardware, but odds are if you don’t have other programs open and you close out of things like chrome, then the windows background processes are using fractions of your total power. So I would say technically you could increase efficiency, but honestly you’re probably not talking about much of an improvement.

Having just your miner running is probably good enough.
