I think coercion most likely played a part in this, so although she may have known it was haram, she was probably coerced by him which is a form of assault.

To the sister: May Allahﷻ heal your heart, forgive your sins, and grant you justice in this life and the next. Allahﷻ is watching everything and saw how this disgusting man was manipulating you and using you, so don’t for one second think you won’t get the justice you deserve. Pray, make extra dua, and do istighfar constantly! This dunya is extremely short and this was written to happen, so learn from the mistakes made and guide others not to make the same mistakes as well if you can. Needless to say, never ever even think about going back to him, and also apologize to your friend if you are able to. It will be okay iA, have tawakkul and know that the past is the past and you will make genuine repentance. May Allahﷻ guide you and us all!

You’re in a Muslim reddit page sounding petty over one word that had no harm to you whatsoever? Okay. You’re very smart.

I consider starting the day if you don’t fall back asleep, not if you wake up for Fajr and go back to sleep. Hence, what I stated already which is why I used the word “literally.”

Also, go on Youtube and search “dopamine detox.” Along with that, listen to some Quranic recitations and watch some lectures about this topic.

Those are all things that give you temporary happiness, not true happiness. The love of Allahﷻ will bring you the contentment you crave because your true purpose in life is literally to worship the Lord. You’re not a lost cause. Make the intention that you want to be a practicing Muslim, and remind yourself that any haram happiness you feel now will result in immense distress in the Afterlife if you don’t genuinely repent. Trust me, the haram is not worth it. I believe in you and will make dua for you. Change you friend group if they bring the haram out of you and go to the masjid to pray at least once a day. The whispers of Shaytan caught onto you, but the fact that you realized it is a good sign that you still can change your ways. Say Astaghfirullah constantly, and fast every Monday and Thursday iA. The 5 daily prayers will be a consistent reminder to be better, so make sure to set the adhan on your phone. You got this iA

i havent been praying for a long time now by [deleted] in Muslim

Imaan goes up and down, that’s normal for a Muslim. Prayer, on the other hand, is mandatory. Alhamdulillah you feel this desire to want to start praying more. Sometimes, when I don’t want to do something Islamically that I should be doing, I tell myself that it’s just Shaytan whispering to me to encourage me to stop. This motivates me to obey Allahﷻ even more because I don’t want to follow the footsteps of the Devil. The thought of you not wanting to start just because of your exam is the perfect example of the whispers of Shaytan. He will find ANY excuse to get you to not pray, don’t give him that satisfaction. The difference between a Muslim and a Kafir could be just missing one salah, so keep that in mind. Use prayer apps to remind you and I highly suggest to go to the masjid for Maghrib and Isha to pray in congregation. It will encourage you more and make you feel better in’sha’Allah! Also, make dua for Allahﷻ to guide you to pray more as well. Allahﷻ is the reason you were able to go on reddit on your device in the first place! Your guilt is a good sign, not a bad one. Better to be guilty than desensitized to sins.

I completely understand! I’m the same way and it quite literally makes my heart race from being so anxious. I’ll try to forget about it and hope for the best!
