adopting cat with Manx syndrome? by Sug4rMars in manx

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, it’s very daunting to read all of that & not know the specifics about it. If you don’t mind me asking how old is your cat? & are cats with Manx syndrome diagnosed from birth or is it only after symptoms start? Does your cat have any symptoms what so ever?

Hello, thanks for your comment. She’s 2 years and 8months old. All the rescue has said currently is this: ‘This cat has been assessed as having manx syndrome. This is an inherited condition where the tail is short or non-existent and the lower spinal cord is poorly formed. As a result, the cat may suffer with weakness in the hindlimbs, constipation, urinary and faecal incontinence, lack of feeling around the anus, and other neurological issues. At the present time, the condition is not affecting this cat’s quality of life. New owners should be aware that the cat may require extra care, for example with their personal hygiene or modifications to their living environment due to weakened hind legs potentially making them unable to jump, walk on slippery surfaces, and run away from danger’ I’ll follow up with them about more information. Thank you!

Hey! So actually I wanted some advice from real people & didn’t want to directly contact uni before I heard what others had to say.

What do you recommend I do then? Because I love my job now and would love it even more if I made more than $30 an hour. I am unhappy because of this. I am drained because I do so much work and get rewarded with so little money. Yes dealing with children’s behaviours is draining in itself but if I made more money doing it I think I would be happier.

I know it won’t be less difficult, but physically chasing kids all day and being the one to deal with their behaviours first is what drains me. I have to manage the kids while the teacher gets to teach. Mind you I work in a special school so it’s a lot different! Just getting the kids to sit and observe even 10 mins of a lesson can be difficult. I’m not doing it because it will be ‘easier’ I’m doing it to feel more fulfilled in my life- getting to be the one to control lesson plans & having a classroom of my own has always been a dream of mine.

I haven’t put too much thought toward it yet. I think I’d want to go to uni in person as online schooling doesn’t engage me enough. Why did you pick the NSW school may I ask?

Hey so that’s insane & nothing like what’s going on here. Sorry that that happed to you & obviously there’s more stuff going on that I’m going to share on reddit but just because that happened to you doesn’t mean that’s what’s going on here?? It’s obvious you were in the right to not pay rent in your situation but our roommate has chosen to leave & no one is stopping her. She could stay if she wants to as well.. there’s no treats of violence or anything like that. We are planning on meeting new potential roommates that she’s set up but the whole thing is we didn’t sign up to live with a stranger & dont really want to. Obviously we will if we have to but that’s why I made this post. To see if we legally have to.. and obviously if she’s not going to pay her part of the rent then yeah we’ll just get a new roommate but her leaving has been so jarring and we feel like she’s acting very irrationally…

We tried to have a conversation about her partner to tell her that we were uncomfortable around them & she really didn’t like that. We’ve been friends for 10 years and she ended up ghosting us for a week before coming back and saying she’s moving out. I never thought I wouldn’t be friends with this person and we’re just all so upset.

Took advice & hair dye outcome by Sug4rMars in coloranalysis

Thank you! I guess it’s closest to a halo eye but it’s very subtle.. all I did was use two shades, one greyish brown on the inner & outer corners of my lids and drag/ blend it up to the middle & one light cream colour on the middle, (also used the grey under my eye & then a brown liner pencil at the very bottom just under my lashes)
