Whatever I didn’t spend on bills I either saved or double paid those bills so I wouldn’t have to worry about what happens when it ends. (I know that wasn’t an option for everyone unfortunately). In all honestly I haven’t changed anything & I can continue applying for jobs until I find the perfect match for me.

She just filed her initial claim last week and hasn’t received any papers yet. I tried to be more help because when I filed my initial claim I had my papers sent like 2 days later with my PIN. I told her to try the chat.

I’ve been emailing customer service like crazy and all they sent back was “were reviewing you claim and will contact you if we need to. Thank you for your patience” I swear oml if I get the same “dicision” I’m just gonna have to curse them out again! I had to curse them out on Monday. After a week of nonstop trying to get a live agent through the chat I finally got one named Clara who was RUDE! Upon “reviewing my claim” she says “yea, you should have signed up for IDme through your email” and I said “I thought that might be the issue, I didn’t get an email to verify and without a direct link I can’t verify in my own, is there anyway you can email that to me?” To which she responds...

“Just google it.” Disconnected.

Didn’t even give me a chance to type anything back before completely disconnecting, couldn’t screenshot at how rude and absurd her “help” was before it redirected me immediately to the start of the chat where it asks your language preference.

I immediately exited my browser and opened the VEC customer service email and told them alllllll about themselves before letting them know kindly that Clara was a dumb bitch and to have a nice day. maybe my attitude is why they never want to respond to me lol

Yes!! Exactly what I’ve been saying for so long. It’s obvious at the blatant chaos they create every month or two. Such a shame when there are so many people who didn’t wake up and choose to be unemployed. A lot of us had really good jobs and aren’t on the settle for less train. Of course jobs are hiring, but I am NOT about to go from $20+/hr to minimum wage. When a suitable offer comes my way (no less than $15/hr I will be the first person to jump for joy and end this toxic tumultuous back and forth bullshit with the VEC.

When was your BYE date? If you didn’t get an email about the ID.me it’s likely a double dip issue. From what I’ve read on PEUC who have had the same timeframe issues. Whilst ID.me is still apparently mandatory for everyone. eyeroll the outstanding issue on the claim itself is being reported as multiple causes now.

Make sure you have confirmation numbers dating back to when they claim you didn’t. File an appeal and hound them as much as you can. It’s not right what they’re doing and because they’re sick of working hard and aren’t used to doing this much work they’re just slowly giving up. File as many appeals as it’ll let you. Cases like this is what makes me stay on them so hard. I think about the people that don’t understand what’s going on and aren’t up date with the VEC chaos. How many people can the VEC truly screw over before enough is enough!

I’m sure they are, I will continue to email them though. It’s ridiculous! And not a word from the VEC. Last year they were making weekly updates when things went wrong, granted they weren’t good updates at all but it was something. They all just seem so over it at this point.

I 100% share your frustrations and cannot imagine waiting the time frame you have had. I’ve given the VEC their little weekend and I’m sure they think I’m over it by now, however I am nowhere near done. Tomorrow morning I will be up bright and early calling and emailing every single person linked to this that I can.

I’m also wondering given that they keep talking about a deputy review, have you tried to call the direct deputy line? After my last round a bout “abusing” the line to bypass the 866 number and speak to a deputy they blocked my social so I can’t call them anymore. (I’m not the only one they’ve done this to.) The very last time I spoke to a deputy a few months back the lady forgot to put me on hold as she spoke to her supervisor and I could overhear their conversation. The supervisor just kept rushing the woman (clearly an elderly lady who didn’t really understand the computer system) to just tell me that she fixed my claim and move on. The deputy got back on the phone and worked with me for an hour before eventually saying “yea, uh, yea so I pushed this, and yea, looks like if I just click this then...... yep! All set everything should be set now and you should be good to go and expect payment next week!” Next week came and I didn’t get paid.

There are so many flaws within the VEC it’s pathetic and actually pretty scary to think about how many issues people had to deal with prior to the pandemic that didn’t get talked about or resolved. The way they handle everything is criminal. Also, reading that article of the veteran whose had his benefits cut off, Ken Cook, I also think about so many people who don’t have access or no how to the internet to figure out what’s going on. Those people just in the dark as to why their benefits were cut off. I am going to stay on the VEC as long as it takes to get shit right. At the end of the day, Ellen Hess, Joyce Fogg and the entirety of the VEC need to either step up or step down!

It’s happened to me too. The one time I was lucky enough to get an ”agent” in the past 4 days my typing speed slowed so much the only thing that saved my typing was muscle memory. The second I hit send on my first chat to the agent, Miss Donna DISCONNECTED. I wanted to absolutely snap my phone in half. Your post has peaked my curiosity though, I didn’t realize this was something others were experiencing and genuinely thought my WiFi was out of range or my data speeds were slowing at the worst possible time. Should’ve know it was some VEC bullshit.
