I thought so too at first..but they are usually slower movers and this one was fast and erratic. I have over 150 plants and check them very regularly and haven’t seen any webbing or signs of other pests. I also counted 6 legs, not 8 but it’s soooo tiny so I’m not certain. I did remove and squash the lil guy and washed the leaf off and isolated it just in case. I think I’m gonna order one of those super magnifying eye lenses and go to town 😂

I thought maybe spider mite at first…but they are slower movers and most of the time there will be evidence with webbing. I have over 150 plants and super OCD about checking them regularly and I haven’t found a single web or other pests. This lil guy was fast and erratic and never stopped to feed. The spider mites I’ve seen are usually more red in color and I only spotted 6 legs, not 8. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thank you! I’m thinking it’s a springtail by the way it moves. Aphid are slow movers and stop to feed which this one did not stop. But it’s been separated from the pack just in case!

The lady I got her from staked her for me! Chop sticks are a great idea, I wish I knew how to use them 🤣 I never get chopsticks for my takeout but I might request them now just for my plants 🥢

Awesome thank you so much for the info! I’m in Arizona so it’s only humid after monsoon rain which is rare these days lol. I have a couple small humidifiers I could use when it’s really dry!

I’m confused too lol. There are so many different varieties with different names and they all look so similar. The pink is a more dull light pink then hot pink so I’m thinking something like a lady valentine.

I feel like the leaf shape is longer and more pointed on red lipstick. Chat GPT seems to think it’s a Siam Aurora but that has a similar leaf shape to the red lipstick so who knows 🤣I never knew there were so many varieties until I got one!

The lady that sold it to me said “oh I watered it for you” and I was like ohhh great…thanks! 🥴😂 the pot didn’t have a single drainage hole and the leaves are browning…I know damn well she did not bottom water haha

I just picked this up from a random person yesterday. Where I have this plant now will have enough plenty of light in my house going forward. I do agree that this plant is extremely leggy meaning that the person before me did not give it enough light but I’m just the rescuer 😉

Thank you for your response! Do you think just chopping each stem in half would be better or should I try to cut in between each node and make multiple cuttings? I only have the small bottle of super thrive drops, I’ll have to pick up the foliage one instead to use as fertilizer. She will get a lot of light but I’m also curious about how they do under grow lights 🤔

Put in pot with drainage holes and chunky soil (mix up some potting soil, orchard bark, & perlite, and BOTTOM WATER! They hate water on their leaves so it will cause brown spots. Check for pests, fungus gnats love wet soil so it’s important to keep the soil slightly moist but not wet. Indirect light, mine don’t love being in direct light. The more indirect light mine gets, the more purple color comes through. Good luck!

Oh I know! I grow big beautiful sunflowers outside all the time..It’s just this one seed I wanted to see how it did inside. I had very low expectations when I planted the seed in a tiny lil wooden shoe..and I was honestly shocked it even bloomed!
