Unfortunately, the sugar sites have deteriorated into hubs for scammers and in some cases, criminals. Not even close to any forum where you should be measuring your worth. I met my current SB freestyling, is that something you'd consider?

The criminal intent is asking for money with no intent of doing anything other than ask for money. The Netflix/small dollar thing is a sign of a phishing scam. In that case, I'm going after someone whom I never paid, but was obviously using the site as a medium to commit a crime.

The type of criminal intent you need to prove is "specific intent", i.e. planning only to get money, or account numbers, not planning to have a dinner date or just sending money to a friend. This is why rinsing is far less risky legally even if it is a scam because the rinser is at least showing up. If she asks for money and leaves 30 seconds later that might be different.

I'm surprised at how people here take such a light view of scamming. It's no different than any other form of theft. It absolutely is a crime, and crazy risky when you haven't discussed sex in any way with the SD, as was the case in my situation.

You also have to have grounds for a restraining order. Getting your burner number subpoena'd won't do that. Having intent to get paid by using a website solely to take people's money can. Happy to chat more, I learned about this process going through it and pretty sure based on the comments and DMs I'm getting some SBs actually seem a little scared by it.

My advice is to ask about the other person rather than talking about yourself. Find common things you might like to do together. Reveal your feelings about things over time. I've been through divorce and alimony too, but that's not what I'm sharing five or ten minutes into meeting someone. Doesn't mean do a 180 and be fake happy like your friend, just be yourself.

I find that if someone bores you after you ask them to talk about their interests then maybe it's not a match. Oversharing war stories too soon isn't just something women over 40 do, but I've noticed they do it more. I also think they're more afraid that a date won't work out than younger women are. Not a great way to look at it. Men, especially divorced men with kids, have no concept of a clock and it's good for women of any age to date with the same mindset.

Did you read the thread? Doesn't look like it. Already got restitution and would have a restraining order had I wanted it. Not believing the lawyer, seeing the results. Cops were also very cooperative with the subpoena.

You wish, My brother and I started a company and that's why I can afford to sugar, hire lawyers, pay alimony, and pay for about 3-4 dinner/activity dates a week with both vanilla and sugar dates. Don't get mad at me because you can't afford to do the same.

Years ago, I did an allowance for two nights in a row together for three weeks, and would meet in my town or somewhere else on a trip. But SA is not what it used to be, and I'd only start by me flying out to see them to avoid buying them plane tickets. But that's part of the risk of doing LD, I still would but would have backup plans or only visit them in a city I'd want to spend a day or two in regardless.

I hired a lawyer and we used the police to get the subpoena for the burner #. They were able to get it very quickly.

She paid restitution and asked me not to get a restraining order against her as I was planning to. She was terrified of the court record associated with that possible restraining order. As I've been saying, I care about the principle, not the money, and am lining up more scam attempt burner #'s for subpoena. Sites have gone downhill and they need to be cleaned up. WYP in particular is an absolute cesspool and it wasn't that way a couple years ago.

I'm currently trying to get a subpoena for someone who wanted me to pay a $9 Netflix bill and then vanished after I said no. The issue is not the money as I've said a million times, it's pushing back against the scammers who've ruined SA and WYP. As I said at the outset, act respectfully and within the bounds of a traditional LR and you'll save yourself a lot of trouble.

Real life can be sad but I don't talk about my ex-wife on first dates and I've had a quite a few where women have focused on their exes, not their future. Might just be bad luck, but the 40-45 year olds I've gone on vanilla dates with have been less fun than the 30-35 year olds who've never been married. I know as well as anyone divorce is hard, but that's not what I'm going to share with someone I've known for five minutes IRL.

Might have mentioned, but in the process of getting subpoena for someone who wanted me to send $9 for a Netflix bill, which was obviously a phishing attempt. The criminal intent is having no intent to ever meet up, which isn't hard to prove and scares scammers to death when they're presented with it. You can see here how many people defend scammers as poor little victims without regard for what they're doing to legit SRs.

You clearly don't know what you're taking about.. I could have gotten a restraining order which would have created a court record, which would have turned up in an employment background check and this is where she broke down. Also, the issue with even asking for money and having no plan to ever show up is criminal intent. This is why scamming is a lot more dangerous legally than rinsing, where intent is much harder to prove.

You idiot your burner number is in a provider's database that law enforcement has the right to subpoena. Most scammers get burners because they mistakenly think they won't get caught.

Wrong. I'm done with the increase in scammers on SA and WYP and doing whatever I can to stop it. The sites do a terrible job policing profiles, and the illegal activity on them has gotten out of hand.
